Reviews Summary

Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats consistently impresses with its fantastic food, exceptional brews, and lively atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination. While the service can sometimes be a point of contention, with occasional disappearances, the overall dining experience is highly regarded, particularly for its accommodating nature towards large groups and families.

"I may not drink alcohol anymore, but I love this brew pub. Yes they have plenty of their famous microbrews to choose from, after all they helped fuel the craft beer movement in the US, but they also have amazing food here too! The building is still fairly new (circa 2017) and is a much improved space then compared to its predecessor. The dining spaces are really cool especially if you can get a table in one of the barrel booths. They also have a massive stage where they host live music multiple times a week. Their wait staff is an amazing group of people. Did I mention their food? It is so good! Whether you are craving one of their pizzas, burgers, or something else….everything they serve is fantastic!"

Eric Feazel

"This was such a must go to location!! Thank you Corey, for helping us to have a wonderful experience with our server Ashley. The burgers were great, pizza was fabulous 👌!!! Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic!! Highly recommend this if your in Lewes or Rehoboth!!!! On tap locally made beers!!!"

Anthony Lupacckino

"I really like it here so I won’t ding this particular meal. Avoid the beef on weck. Honestly it feels like the ribeye is boiled and without seasoning. My wife really liked her blackened shrimp tacos and we both really liked the pretzels for the appetizer so I’m not gonna ding the whole experience for just one dish. I’m sure their burgers and pizza are stronger dishes. The beer is always superior and is worth the wait. Their cocktails are also good."

For cocktails and entertainment, most folks drop by the lounges at local restaurants to socialize before or after dinner, with the aforementioned Blue Moon, Mixx, Aqua, and Seafood Shack among the favorites. Early in the evening, a lot of lesbians and gay guys head to the Frogg Pond http://www.thefroggpond.com tavern for karaoke and conversation, or nearby Rehoboth Ale House http://www.rehobothalehouse.com, which has live music some evenings and drag brunch on Sundays. Rehoboth Beach/Dewey Beach

The Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats (320 Rehoboth Ave.; 302/226-2739) has a new chef, Brian Manchin, and a new, more home-brew-oriented menu: beer-battered onion rings and fish 'n' chips, ale-steamed shellfish and lots of ale-based marinades (try the strip steak marinated in the chickory stout), along with wood-grilled fresh fish and lots of fresh salsas to set them off. Manchin--who's worked for the John Harvard brewpub-restaurant chain, though not in D.C.--also has a passion for supporting local producers: farmers, seafood dealers and bakers. (Commuter alert: A second Dogfish Head will open in Wilmington in November.)

A Guide to Over 30 New Restaurants in Delaware You Need to Try

That’s partly why the biggest buzz tends to surround startups that are truly novel, completely extravagant, or thoroughly engaging—an attribute that seems to have inspired the comprehensive teardown and makeover of Dogfish Head, stalwart of the beach brew scene since 1995. The Rehoboth Avenue location has been transformed into a beer-worshipping megaplex, with broad windows and spacious sightlines pulling together the views: There’s now an outdoor courtyard, an open kitchen with wood-burning pizza oven, and a “dog-friendly” patio connecting it all to Dogfish’s next-door restaurant, Chesapeake & Maine.

Rehoboth Beach Gay Guide to Nightlife and Dining

Ramen No. 176: Miyagi Ramen Bar

Rehoboth Beach is best known as a beach resort town for DC folks; or for those with a modicum of interest in food, the home of Dogfish Head’s original brewpub. It’s not where you would expect to see a ramen restaurant, but Miyagi Ramen Bar has been serving ramen there since 2017. The shop came up when I was searching for ramen shops I could visit on my way home to DC after getting off the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, but what solidified my decision (and not visit the Dogfish Head brewpub instead) was news that one of the owners, Jeong Kim, hand-makes all the noodles in the shop.

Gay Nightlife in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware: Best Bars, Clubs & More

Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats: It's something of a mecca for fans of unusual craft beers, and especially those of hoppy IPAs: Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats, which sells its beer all over the country and has several other outposts in different cities, calls Rehoboth Beach home. It's not gay-specific, per se, but it's right on the main drag and a great option for tasting top-quality beer. It isn't unusual for this convivial taproom to host a live band now and again (and it serves pretty tasty pub food, too).

The Food And Drink You Can't Miss At Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

One of America's most beloved modern craft beer makers started off as Delaware's first-ever brewpub in Rehoboth Beach. Since June of 1995, Dogfish Head has been tapping "off-centered ales for off-centered people" thanks to James Beard award-winning founder Sam Calagione and his wife Mariah, and although it merged with Sam Adams in 2019, it has not only stayed true to its roots but branched out in many ways. For fans of Dogfish Head beer, Rehoboth Beach and the surrounding areas is a pilgrimage must.

Rehoboth (and the other beach towns of Delaware) have phenomenal breweries, but when it comes to both food and beer Dogfish is the winner. Order a flight of beer to find your favorite and then get a pint (or two) after. I love an IPA, so some of my personal favorite brews here include the Hazy-O and the 60 Minute IPA. A favorite lighter beer of mine is the Namaste, and their Punkin Ale is one of my favorite seasonal beers of all time.
