Reviews Summary

Confucius Chinese Cuisine is lauded for its excellent service and amazing, flavorful food, with many guests praising the authentic Hunan-style dishes and seafood specialties. The hands-on involvement of the owners and the knowledgeable staff contribute to a warm, welcoming atmosphere, making it a top choice for special occasions. However, some diners find the prices to be on the higher side, comparable to New York City establishments, and a few have expressed disappointment with specific dishes not meeting their expectations for authenticity.

"We have had this on our list of restaurants to make it to. I have heard great reviews about this restaurant and have been excited to try it. I am so happy we made it. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. Thank you for the dinner experience and we will definitely be back!"

"Outstanding food and staff. The ginger halibut entree and beef stick appetizer were out of this world tender and delicious. The staff are absolute pros in this small but delightful restaurant. Already craving it again and can't wait to go back! If I could change one thing it would be to swap out more comfy chairs but that's the only change I'd make to my dining experience. Love this place!"

"One of the best Chinese restaurants in the world! The owners are so friendly, humble, and personable. Me and my family have been coming here annually when we visit Rehoboth Beach. The food here is so fresh and delicious. Always a delight eating at this amazing restaurant!!"

Several other longtime fixtures also remain top-flight considerations — from influential, 44-year-old gourmet Back Porch Cafe (59 Rehoboth Ave.), to fine-dining Eden (23 Baltimore Ave.) and its more affordable offshoot Jam (21 Baltimore Ave.), to the oft-overlooked Confucius Chinese Cuisine (57 Wilmington Ave.). Among upscale seafood options, one newer spot worth its catch is Dogfish Brewery’s casual-chic Chesapeake & Maine (316 Rehoboth Ave.). Meanwhile, one notable gay-owned restaurant set to open later in the season is The Pines (56 Baltimore Ave.), a casual eatery in the former Java Beach/Hobos space, across Baltimore Avenue from Aqua, and coming from Tyler Townsend and Bob Suppies.
