Guasaca has been one of my go-tos for years, especially when I’m over near Lake Boone Trail 🥑🍅🦙 I definitely recommend the steak arepa (my forever fave) or the Half Bowl + Arepa Combo if you want the best of both worlds. But next time, I’m trying a cheese arepa and the crispy chicken - they were a big hit at our table! They have 5 locations across Raleigh, Durham, and Morrisville, so make sure to ...

Reviews Summary

Guasaca South American Grill is praised for its fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned arepas and bowls, offering great value. Diners appreciate the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff. However, some reviews mention issues with cleanliness and overly salty or vinegary seasoning in certain dishes.

"Delicious, fast, fresh food! We ordered the shredded chicken arepas and a custom bowl with brown rice, shredded chicken, black beans, corn, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese. Everything was so flavorful and filling, and the service was excellent. This is a great spot if you want a quick and delicious bite to eat!"

Aspen Andersson

"Wow, what a huge disappointment! I ordered the chicken fajita bowl. It made me wish so badly that I had ordered from Chipotle 😭. The good: rice, lettuce was fresh, and the cilantro sauce was delicious. The ok: chicken and beans. The awful: the sautéed onions had a four day salt intake dumped into them-yikes!! The plantains tasted like they had vinegar on them. Why? Not to my taste, personally. Overall mixed together I truly couldn’t eat even half of it, although I tried…"

Leesha Weber

"It was amazing! We had the chicken fajita bowl and chicken tender arepa. They were both delicious! We are excited to go back and try more things."

15 Raleigh Restaurants That Will Blow The Taste Buds Out Of Your Mouth

Yelp 4 ½ stars, 317 reviews Arepas are a popular dish in Venezuela—and they’re becoming popular in Raleigh too thanks to Guasaca’s. If you’ve never sampled an Arepa, it is similar to a tortilla (kind of) made of corn or maize flour and stuffed with good ingredients. Arepas at Guasaca are actually pretty overstuffed full of fresh, delicious ingredients like chicken, beef, cheese, avocado, guacamole, tilapia and much more.

I live like 2.5 miles from Guasaca, and my gym is like 0.2 miles from there, and I'm embarrassed to admit how little I go there, given how much I love it. I don't know what it is about the Lake Boone location, but I always forget it's there.
