🇺🇸🇵🇹🏳️‍🌈 Provincetown, Massachusetts 🇺🇸🇵🇹🏳️‍🌈 This picturesque Cape Cod town draws influence from whalers, fishermen, America, Portugal, the LGBT community, artists and all of the above! It’s well worth the hour and a half fast ferry over from Boston for a day trip - you can walk or bike everywhere, including over sand dunes to gorgeous (and shark infested) sandy beaches. #provincetown #ptown #cap...

Reviews Summary

Strangers & Saints is lauded for its exceptional craft cocktails and well-executed Mediterranean-inspired small plates, all served within a uniquely charming atmosphere. While many praise the vibrant ambiance and attentive service, some diners have noted inconsistent experiences with seating arrangements and a few specific dishes.

"It’s out first time in Ptown and so we’ve been asking people we run into for restaurant recommendations. Many recommended Sal’s, Red Inn, etc. This has been our favourite recommended place for the few days we’ve been here so far. The restaurant feels like you can make the experience what you want, dress up or be comfortable. We loved the garden seating in the back where we were sort of outside but not right on the front and facing the street. Drinks were good, food was great as well. Enjoyed the pork belly and shrimps the most. Octopus was a bit too charred and chewy - a bit overdone, but the hummus was very good. Ricotta dumplings I did not enjoy because the greens combo was bitter and spicy, but others at our table liked it."

Priscilla V

"I originally booked this place, because I thought the interior was so cute. Unfortunately, they had us sitting in a back sort of makeshift area. The star of the show here was definitely the drinks, and the black eyed pea hummus that came with the octopus. The food was good, but nothing I would come back for. We asked for recommendations on the menu and were told that everything was good. That wasn’t exactly helpful for people who have never been here before. I always ask for recommendations, and you can usually never go wrong with that. The atmosphere was just OK since we sat in the back, the inside was so cute and definitely very lively."

Kristen

"Loved it here! Had an excellent first dinner out in Provincetown. From the bags for masks, to QR menus, to the service, everything was great. We started with cocktails, got some starters, a pizza, 2 plates and a dessert (and went home with some leftovers). Highly recommend if you’re looking for a special dinner. Also, make a reservation — we got lucky without one on a Monday night but will make one if we go again."

The 12 Most Photo-Worthy Spots on Cape Cod

Located in Provincetown’s East End, Strangers and Saints is a Medittereanan restaurant and cocktail bar located in what was once the home of a whaler in the 1850s. According to the restaurant, the vibe is a blend of “sea captain salt, swank, and swagger” so think dark walls, tons of vintage nautical decor, and big, heavy leather armchairs. The food, though, is unlike anything you would find aboard a fisherman’s boat: patatas braves, charred shisito peppers, and a lineup of pizzas with toppings like burrata and spring peas are some menu standups.

Restaurants where we could be happy with a great cocktail before or with an amazing dinner (some of which you’ll also see under restaurants below): happy hour at The Red Inn has become a little less informal during the pandemic (no more “show up, grab an Adirondack chair on the deck and order a few drinks”), but they still make a great cocktail and have delicious appetizers; Strangers and Saints which makes terrific cocktails in both their modern-rustic indoor and spacious outdoor terrace spaces along with shared plates and pizzas; the old-school bar at Jimmy’s Hideaway is intimate, cozy and welcoming; Pepe’s Wharf is a sprawling and beautifully decorated restaurant with a cute little bar and a smart living room/lounge/waiting area which would be a nice place for a pre-dinner cocktail (bonus points: in spite of a crowded room at dinner, the gimlet turned up exactly the way I like it). The Patio Grill, an ever-popular choice on Commercial Street that’s been revamped fairly recently with new owners and a fresh look, serves up delicious cocktails — some in mason jars (which my Southern husband always likes) — with lunch or dinner day and night. Also, Victor’s and Liz’s Cafe/Anybody’s Bar, both on Bradford rather than the busier Commercial Street make good cocktails, with Victor’s especially popular for its happy hour.

Strangers & SaintsWith beautifully plated dishes meant to share (think Local Oysters with pomegranate mignonette and kombucha granita, and House-Made Pappardelle with duck confit and ras el hanout carrot sugo), dining here is like going to a dinner party at the beach house of a posh Spanish yachter. Strangers & Saints fills an antique cottage and garden with enticing Mediterranean meze, pizza, and libations. Wine and beer selections are top-notch, but seasonal cocktails are what we want here, like this summer’s Heart of the Tides, a gin sipper with herbal lift thanks to Génépy, burnt rosemary, and Pontarlier Absinthe.

On the artsy end of town, double-height columns beckon from the front porch of Strangers & Saints, where tables spill toward Commercial Street from an 1850s sea captain’s house. Here, AD100 designer Ken Fulk (a part-time P-town resident) decked out interiors with a nod to the sea (expect exposed shiplap paneling, suspended copper ship lanterns, and tufted leather armchairs) while the kitchen complements with Mediterranean-inspired flair and a strong cocktail list. Leaning toward wine, over on the West End, Joon Bar & Kitchen presents polished small plates that highlight the seasons.

Located in the newly renovated 1850 home of Captain John Cook, they have a beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking Commercial Street (the main street in Provincetown). It’s a great place to socialize and experience old and new world wines, artisan cocktails and craft beers each with pairing options of gourmet bar food and small plates. Inspiration for the different all-day drink and lounge menu comes from regional producers and distillers, local farmers, and the Cape’s fishermen.

Walking into Strangers & Saints feels like walking back in time to 1850, when this building was constructed. The interior design follows a stunning nautical-tavern theme, complete with a couch and chairs for lounging. The Mediterranean-influenced menu emphasizes local vendors and producers; there are plenty of small plates to choose from and the pizzas are unique: try the arugula and mission fig pizza with balsamic glaze, prosciutto, and Gorgonzola cream.

The 16 Best Provincetown Restaurants and Bars in 2024

After Tea, many revelers flock to Strangers & Saints, housed in an incredible 1850’s Greek Revival homestead. The Ken Fulk-designed interior, and well-made cocktails make for a dependably enjoyable second stop. The food goes well beyond basic bar snacks with dishes like meatballs with salsa verde and cucumber kimchi (my go-to dish), which pair nicely with the charred shishito peppers or spicy Moroccan carrots.
