Reviews Summary

The Malted Barley is celebrated for its unique gourmet soft pretzels and extensive craft beer selection, offering a relaxed and fun atmosphere perfect for groups or solo diners. Many praise the availability of gluten-free options and creative pretzel-based sandwiches. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service and knowledge of beer offerings from staff.

"My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxed afternoon snack during our trip to Providence and went here based on a recommendation. It did not disappoint! Great selection of beers, pretzels, and dips in a quaint bar setting. We ordered the salted pretzel with honey mustard and the gingerbread pretzel with peppermint hot chocolate dip. Both were great and came out piping hot! The staff were very friendly and the service was good. We also loved the selection of board/card games! We will definitely be back again if we ever find ourselves in this neck of the woods"

Sarah Leinbach

"Went on a recommendation before BlackBerry Smoke concert at The Strand.
Welcoming and attentive staff and very tasty food. Some creative adaptations of pretzels - had 3 as appetizers and as almost full before my burger/pretzel arrived - and I'd do it again!!! (I took half of the burger home). Ill certainly recommend this place to others!!!"

Peter Rovick

"We stopped in for lunch during our day trip to Providence, and it did not disappoint. This corner restaurant in the downtown area has plenty of indoor seating with various sized tables, bar seating, and seasonal outdoor tables out front. Their list of craft beer is excellent, and they have a full bar as well.
The highlight and not-to-be missed specialty are their freshly made pretzels. Ranging in applications from appetizer to dessert, the pretzels have the perfect balance of a crispy outside and doughy inside. I was absolutely thrilled they offer gluten-free pretzels as well and thoroughly enjoyed my California club sandwich without fear.
I highly recommend coming to The Malted Barley for a meal if you're tired of plain old sandwiches and want something different! Especially for anyone who has Celiac disease so they can have some variety."
