Reviews Summary

Marcy's Diner is lauded for its delicious, home-style American breakfasts and incredibly friendly, attentive service. Diners rave about the generous portions and the authentic, cozy diner atmosphere. While service can sometimes be slow due to the diner's small size, the staff's warmth and complimentary treats often make up for it.

"I'm a self confessed breakfast foodie. My professional and personal travels take me all over the United States and the world. I'm usually in a place for ten to thirteen weeks or so. Today I went to Marcy's Diner. Even after I asked the simple question, the origin story wasn't presented with any depth. Marcy was simply mentioned as a previous owner. So what? This place is the trifecta for the breakfast foodie in all of us. As I walked in the man behind the diner bar, Stanley, barked out, "Just one?!" I gave him the Northsouth nod and he pointed at a diner stool and said, " Here's where you are." He accepted my challenge when I said, I'd be sitting in a different spot. Stanley is wearing the classic tuxedo t shirt along with a pair of gym shorts. During my entire breakfast, all I ever saw him do was wash dishes and wipe down coffee mugs and he remained in constant motion. He comes across like an older more sarcastic Joe Pesci. The waitress, Grace, has the resonant voice of an FM DJ. The diner itself is cluttered and authentically filled with things from yesteryear. It emanates the field, then the Cracker Barrel chain tries to emulate. I asked grace to bring me a ham and cheese omelet, hash browns, toast, and crispy bacon. I told her she could pick the cheese for my omelet and she chose swiss. This was a great twist to my usual omelet. Thanks Grace.
The cook prepared a perfect breakfast meal. He's a guy that knows how to make a great breakfast and you'd love to have him as your wingman in a fight. Everything was top notch. If I had to do anything over again, I would just ask for one piece of toast, because as you'll see in the pics, one piece of toast in that place he's as big as a mud flap on a Ford F150. Grace kept my ☕️ coffee full and I liked that she brought me a glass of water even though I didn't ask for it. This level of conscientious anticipation and attention to detail is apparent as you look around what seems like a cluttered place. It seems like someone has just enough OCD to be a value add to the operation. They even have a bin for the lids for to-go containers that have already been stamped with Marcy's Diner.

The pricing is fair, the service is above average, and the feel reminds me of a hometown greasy spoon where people just know who you are and you are welcome. They have a few booths and a lot of diner stools."

"Adorable small and timeless diner. Expect classic diner offerings, friendly and engaging staff, and an intimate (small) space. There’s tons of butter in everything so of course everything tastes phenomenal. The classics are epic combos and a ton of food - well worth the price. Although food service was slow (30+ minutes for 2 meals), the staff were very nice and brought us free cinnamon buns until food arrived. Come early to beat the line!"

"I loved Marcy's Diner! This is a legit old-school style diner. Small inside (you most likely will have to wait for a table). Great menu with some unique choices like holy donut french toast made with Portland's signature holy donut shop's donuts. I went with the chili cheese omlette and it was excellent! Service is fast and efficient (diner style). Just overall a great place to stop and have breakfast."
