What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Boone's Fish House & Oyster Room is celebrated for its stunning waterfront views and exceptionally fresh seafood, particularly its signature lobster dishes and oysters. While many praise the attentive service and historic ambiance, some diners find the pricing to be a bit high for the overall experience, and a few have noted issues with certain preparations like the baked lobster claws.
"We hosted our wedding reception on the second floor with 90 guests, and everything was perfect. The food, drinks, views, and staff were all exceptional, and our guests are still raving about the meal.
The bartenders and servers were attentive and friendly, even with a packed bar all night. Ashley, the event planner, was amazing—her guidance made the planning stress-free and ensured the evening ran seamlessly.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Huge thanks to the chef and team—we highly recommend this venue for any celebration!"

"I would definitely say this is a place that you can choose whether or not you want to have lunch or dinner here. I have the stuffed lobster and it was amazing. I would say that it is definitely made for two people though. I actually end up getting sick for eating the whole thing because it was so delicious! But it was way too much food for me. I feel like I could have shared that with somebody and we both would have been full. But, I will have to say there is a flaw with Dad, I got so frustrated trying to open up the claws because it is not cooked the same. It's like baked and Sid's. All the claw is so extremely hard to break open. My hands are hurting so bad trying to open it up. But once I finally got it open it was amazing and had a lot of meat in it. I can't honestly say that I would order it again due to the claws. I think they should come up with a different method for making sure that the claws are open or at least crab cracked or something for their customers because when you bake a hard shell it becomes harder."

"We ordered raw oysters and lobster rolls. The food was fresh, well prepared and flavorful. We sat outside on the deck with a view of the harbor on a nice sunny day. The waitperson was friendly and attentive. The drinks were good but not very strong. Food and drinks were a bit pricey but average for Portland Maine. Overall it was an awesome time."
