Reviews Summary

DiAnoia's Eatery is celebrated for its exceptional, authentic Italian cuisine, particularly its homemade pastas like the famous gnocchi and cacio e pepe. While the food consistently receives rave reviews, diners should be prepared for a bustling, sometimes noisy atmosphere. Service is generally friendly and accommodating, though the large portions can be overwhelming for some.

"One of the best Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh. The food is AMAZING and the atmosphere is very nice. We sat near the garage doors so having windows near us was very nice with the natural light. Cannot recommend this place enough. The side salad is definitely shareable and the bread and olive oil is amazing. I did not get a picture of the brussel sprouts but they were also very good. Every single dish does not disappoint. Please try this place!!"

Maria Celmo

"I wish we lived closer! We tried this wonderful restaurant while on a recent trip to Pittsburgh and so glad we did! They acommodated our party of 3 last minute on a busy night at the bar. Food is top notch and we had a good view of the amazing staff in and out of the kitchen. Pasta Primavera with Shrimp, Rapini, Gnocchi and Meatballs and the Bolognese Bianco every bite was so delicious. And yummy Tiramisu for dessert."

Erin White

"Visited for lunch on a recommendation before the Heinz museum, which was perfect for a quick choice with counter service. The menu had a great selection, as did the bakery cases near the cashier. We were so impressed with how delicious and authentic all of the dishes, sandwiches, and desserts were. The pork sugo was definitely my favorite! Would absolutely come back here any time we find ourselves in Pittsburgh."

Best Restaurants in Pittsburgh: Coolest, Hottest, Newest Places to Eat

The gist: Typically, DiAnoia’s Eatery operates as an all-day Italian cafe, bakery and restaurant, but since the pandemic began, it has become a dinner-only operation, offering in-person dining and takeout, along with make-at-home fresh pasta kits. The food: Homemade everything, including fresh pasta dishes, seasonal salads, charcuterie platters, and larger entrees, like branzino and pork roast. In-house head baker Nick Malburg offers everything from sourdough focaccia to rustic loaves, and pastry chef Rachel Walton is responsible for an incredible array of desserts, including classic Italian cookies, cheesecakes, and cannoncini.
