Have you guys been?? This place is featured in lots of places.. even a tv show I believe!? You’ve gotta go. I loved just the basic margharita pizza and the fresh market salad — it had fresh peaches on it that were delicious! It’s popular and small so expect wait times of an hour+ but hang out next door or what the grounds, it’s definitely worth it!! #azfood #azfoodie #azexperiences #azfoodandexper...

Reviews Summary

Pizzeria Bianco is widely celebrated for its exceptional wood-fired pizzas, with many hailing it as some of the best in the world. Diners consistently praise the quality of ingredients, the unique flavor combinations, and the perfectly crisp crust. While the atmosphere is generally loved for its cozy vibe, some find the wait times long and the menu limited.

"I first heard about this place from my aunt, a serious foodie who raved about it years ago when the owner first started making pizzas.
This was actually my third visit. They start you off with fresh bread and a special oil that's seriously next-level--I could've just sipped the oil, it was that good.

We tried the seasonal appetizer of navel oranges and fennel, which was super refreshing and delicious.

As a huge pistachio fan, I had to try the Rosa pizza--and it did not disappoint. It's rich and packed with a unique, memorable flavor. Just a heads-up: if you're planning to get an appetizer, save some room. The pizza is so rich I could only manage one slice!

I recommend this spot for a pizza night or a casual date night. The vibe is relaxed but has cool lighting and some really unique artwork that adds to the charm. We did not make a reservation and were able to walk in, but did have some weird interactions with the hostess in the beginning other than that the food was stellar."

Megan Bennett

"Oh my! I had seen the special on Chefs Table and thought if I ever get the chance....well as luck would have, I did!

You will not be disappointed and this place is a must stop! Not only amazing pizza, that is from a jersey guy, but excellent service at a non pretentious place that just does top notch food and service.

They have a small parking lot with valet service or the parking garage that is crazy close and 4$ per hr.

I will be back this week to try another one amd bringing friends!!"

Brett Van Deren

"1st of all, service was so good! The workers were so genuine and took such good care of us.
There was no wait and we walked right in. We got our pizza maybe 10 mins after we ordered, which seemed surprisingly fast.
It was delicious!!
The Bianco Verde was our favorite, highly recommend.
The Farmers Market salad was amazing as well.
Everything we ate was such good quality. It’s worth the hype."

Pizza in Phoenix

Ask any Phoenix foodie to name the best pizza joint in town and the answer will come without hesitation: Pizzeria Bianco, housed in a charming brick building (circa 1927) in Downtown's historic Heritage Square. Chef/owner Chris Bianco, who considers pizza-making both art and science, is fanatical about quality, and it shows. He makes his own mozzarella, buys local produce from organic farmers, and seeks the best sausage (from Schreiner's in Central Phoenix) to top his wood-fired pies.

Seriously, these pizzas are so famous they moved to Downtown Los Angeles, where a new Bianco’s debuted in 2022. Head to the original Heritage Square spot for pies like the Biancoverde, with mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, ricotta, and arugula, before a Diamondbacks game, or a weekday lunch when there’s less of a wait.

Chris Bianco is a giant in the pizza world and his handiwork hasn’t slipped an inch over the decades. But he truly excels at giving premier local ingredients—flour, pistachios, cheeses, herbs, citrus—the exact touches they need to express themselves as ideally as pizza, salad, and pasta dishes can.

Pizzeria Bianco has become the measuring stick by which every other wood-fired pizza joint in the Valley is to be compared from now until the very concept of Phoenix becomes obsolete. “I think so-and-so’s pizza is even better than Bianco’s” is a controversial yet commonplace piece of rhetoric you will sometimes hear people throw around in a somewhat desperate effort to drive home a point about how good the pizza they had last night really was. Even if it’s not your favorite pizzeria in town, it’s hard to argue against the sheer influence that the restaurant has had on the local and national pizza scene.

What Scott Holmes did on a statewide level, Chris Bianco did on a national level. No name is more synonymous with the Phoenix dining scene than Bianco, a titanic figure in changing Americans’ perceptions of pizza from cheap delivery or a greasy late-night slice to carefully crafted cuisine. Of course, with recent projects like Tratto, Roland’s, Bianco di Napoli tomatoes, Cutino Sauce Co. and his Los Angeles collaboration with Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt, it’s no longer fair to pigeonhole Bianco as America’s pizza guy.
