What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hana Japanese Eatery is lauded for its exceptionally fresh and artfully prepared sushi and sashimi, alongside flavorful ramen dishes. Diners praise the friendly and attentive service, creating a welcoming, neighborhood feel. While most reviews are glowing, some patrons note that sushi rolls can be small and the sashimi portions thin for the price, suggesting it may be an investment for a premium experience.
"I dont eat seafood (preference not allergy) so struggle to find options at Japanese restaurants but Hana has a variety of safe options!!! Big sake selection in my opinion and excellent authentic Japanese cuisine. If you have been to Japan like I have, you will be pleased with the cuisine at Hana."

"So interesting experience. Atmosphere was really nice, the sushi was tasty. Problem was the rolls are very small and the rice was quite loose. Also the amount of fish was REALLY small. The sashimi was the thinnest cheapest I have EVER had. So in short be prepared to spend 40% more $$ on your meal of sushi!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If I could give more than five stars, I would.
Hana Japanese Eatery is hands down my favorite sushi spot—not just in Phoenix, but in all of Arizona. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem in Tokyo, tucked right into the heart of central Phoenix. The vibe is warm, welcoming, and authentically local—a neighborhood spot that feels both elevated and grounded.
The quality of the fish is absolutely off the charts—the kind of freshness and melt-in-your-mouth perfection you usually only find oceanside. Every bite is crafted with precision and respect for the art of sushi. The presentation? Impeccable. The flavors? Unforgettable.
But it’s not just the food—the service is out of this world. The staff treats you like family. They’re attentive without being overbearing and genuinely care about your experience. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality, atmosphere, and culinary excellence all align so perfectly.
If you haven’t been, go. If you’ve been, you already know.
Hana is the real deal."
