What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dara Thai Express offers a diverse menu with many vegetarian and vegan options, and is praised for its friendly and efficient service. While some diners found the food to be tasty and improved, others felt it was average or overly salty. Portions are generous, though concerns about packaging waste and extra charges have been noted.
"Firstly, the ambience is very great. It’s clean and comfortable. Water is served and the server is serving. (Friendly and attentive) 👍🏻 The foods selection is also good especially for vegetarian. Also, me and my friends enjoy the foods very much!!! It’s sooo goood . Heart is full and stomach is too!"

"Vegetarian reviewer:
I ordered a Thai basil fried rice. I specifically didn’t order from the other Thai restaurant nearby coz I like my fried rice to not have eggs. I was pretty excited, paid ~ $22 for this meal (added extra tofu). However, this place was nothing but disappointment for the price and quality. The food tasted fine - but it was extremely greasy (understand it is fried rice, but still). Less veggies and there were like two basil leaves - basically not what one would expect.
Well, now comes the packaging, for this premium price why would you not pack it in a compostable box, but a styrofoam box with foil paper in it. I was not happy with the wastage created - also a compostable box would have absorbed some oil which would have helped me and this review. Unfortunately, I would only probably not recommend this place so much, if you’re looking for worth of your money and healthy or wholesome options.
Otherwise, this restaurant is conveniently located in the downtown / restaurant / shopping area. Plenty of parking spots and pretty close to Horseshoe bend (one of my favorites from the trip :) )"

"Great service. Friendly staff. Food was okay. Not special. Price level was accordingly. It’s not a cosy restaurant. In general it was good. I ordered the green curry with beef."

Cannot accommodate Gluten free while having gluten free items in menu. Please, if you are celiac, always ask extra questions because everything contains soy sauce and they do not use gluten free soy sauce. They were very nice but told me nothing is gluten free.

NEMOS FISH & CHIPS - (Located next to Dara Thai Express next to Safeway) Good fried fish, French fries, cole slaw, etc… Walk up service and outside tables. Good food, but somewhat over priced.
