Reviews Summary

The Ravenous Pig is celebrated for its inventive New American cuisine and lively atmosphere, particularly its attached beer garden. Diners rave about the quality of the dishes, including steaks and burgers, and the house-brewed beers. However, some patrons have noted inconsistencies in service speed and occasional issues with specific dietary accommodations or dish execution.

"What a wonderful brunch!! We were back in the Winter Park area and had been to The Ravenous Pig about ten years prior and had a wonderful meal. Would it be as good? It was even better!! Delicious starters of the pork ribs and Patatas Bravas. The potatoes were crispy and had a tasty chimmichurri on top. Ribs were "fall off the bone" goodness!! For mains we had the chile relleno, pub burger, breakfast burrito and Gatherer's Salad. All so tasty!! Our server promised the burger was the best in the area. I'd go further and say it was the best burger I've had at a restaurant. Tasty, beefy and cooked perfect medium rare (you can get rare if you want). And the blue cheese and caramelized onions hit it out of the park!! The chile relleno was so well flavored with the chorizo. And the scrambled egg puree was the best parts of a deviled egg!!

And don't forget about dessert. We had a platter of all three desserts. My favorite was the ricotta fritters. Just a hint of lemon! But who doesn't like a warm chocolate chip cookie? And the caramel tart went really well with the dark chocolate mousse.

Don't forget they have a great wine list and brew their own beer. We enjoyed a sparkling wine from Tasmania and the Prickly Dragon was a freshing sour ale, a bit on the aery side with hints of vanilla.
We'll definitely be back when we're in the area and we won't wait ten years."

Glenn Sparks

"Love this place! Big foodie and this place was recommended. We were all impressed by the dishes served. We shared and I was able to try the steak, chicken, burgers and duck. Hard to choose just one. There was a beer garden out back and a large selection of wine and mixed drinks. I would highly recommend this for a date night but we visited for a graduation dinner. The Ciabatta bread is a must! The wait staff kept our drinks full without hoovering. The waitress offered to sit us while we waited on our party and offered to feed the little ones first as she could see they were antsy. It was a great experience for the youngest to the oldest."

Marysol A.

"The food was ok. I ordered the Pork porterhouse. The sauce that they used was amazing. However, the porkchop itself was rather tough. I was surprised to that they only offer bread at a price. I wasn't really impressed with the food. The service was good. Something else worthy of mentioning, where they sat us, we could see the kitchen. There was a strong smell of grease, like heavy fried food smell...not attractive at all. The small scoop of ice cream for $4 felt very stingy."

A husband-and-wife team of James Beard–nominated chefs are behind The Ravenous Pig, where Chef Clay Miller, who trained under the likes of Thomas Keller and Michael Mina, turns out Southern-leaning “Modern American" food, much of it ethically and locally sourced in Florida. Start with a charcuterie or cheese board (the meats are all cured in house), deviled eggs, or the Gruyère biscuits, then proceed with salads brimming with local greens. Main courses include North African–style lamb pita sandwiches, the house-favorite hangar steak, shrimp and grits, and a smoked pork chop with lemon-caper sauce. To finish, the cinnamon-sugar goodness of the Pig Tails dessert is epic.

If you’re looking for a place you, your kids, your mother-in-law, and the entire extended family will be happy with, go to this Winter Park gastropub. While you can order things like dry-aged steaks and goat cheese tortellini in the restaurant and taproom, the beer garden is more casual and fun. The dog-friendly space usually has a food truck menu (think giant pretzels, smashburgers, and wings), Jenga and shuffleboard that will keep the kids occupied, and a long list of house-brewed beers on tap that can last you well into the afternoon.

The Best Brunch in Orlando

This Winter Park gastropub came to be thanks to the vision of noted restaurateurs Julie and James Petrakis. Housed right beside their eponymous brewery, the space exudes a moody, industrial vibe by way of charcoal hues, rustic wood accents and a gray ceiling marked by exposed ductwork. Chef Clay Miller's menu is a bona fide study of classic pub fare with creative Southern spins—at brunch, expect chicken and waffles, bourbon shrimp and grits, and French toast.

Muted brown walls and white table linens lend a sophisticated note to Rollins College students’ and affluent Winter Park residents’ conversations over good wine and Gruyére biscuits.

Orlando’s most beloved gastropub is this neighborhood spot in Winter Park with an outdoor beer garden and arguably the tastiest steak frites in Florida (porcini marinated New York strip, garlic aioli, and truffle fries for the win). The Ravenous Pig’s come-as-you-are vibe makes it as popular for a date night as it is among families. If you’re a beer lover, you’ll be into the small-batch craft brews concocted on-site.

So while I can’t speak to the finished product, and I’m sure it’ll be super pretty, I can tell you that the beer garden is one of the best in the region. From the folks who brought us The Ravenous Pig comes this “Southern Public House” in the former Le Cordon Bleu location. “Cask” is for the beer that’s brewed on site and “larder” is an arcane term for a pantry used primarily in the South. So the cuisine is Southern-inspired and locally sourced, and encompasses the general categories of sausage and country ham; vegetables and grains; fish and oysters; and such delectable oddities as grilled lamb heart, pork belly and foie-gras stuffed quail.
