Reviews Summary

Soseki Omakase is celebrated for its exceptional, Michelin-starred omakase experience, blending traditional Japanese techniques with modern artistry and local Florida ingredients. Diners rave about the intimate atmosphere, impeccable service, and the exquisite, ever-changing menu. While the price point is high, the consensus is that the culinary journey and unique presentation make it a worthwhile indulgence.

"Absolute food magic. I’ve been once after my brother went three times and insisted I go but I normally say I don’t like fish. Well it turns out I don’t like fish at chain restaurants. Each sushi course here was buttery and mild but unique and they added delicate seasonings that I can’t even describe. Truly food magic.

I sincerely hope they get a second star because to me this is tied with Victoria and Albert’s as the best Michelin restaurant in Orlando. All the others were simply a really good meal. Those two are absolutely on another level.

Also shout out to the tea pairing as a magical, fun, unique non-alcoholic pairing option! Usually I feel like if you don’t want alcohol you are left without anything creative. Not here!

And of course the service and interactions with the chefs were impeccable. If you can afford the hefty price tag, it is well worth it!"

Rebecca Wight

"Everything about this place was amazing. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world and beautiful. I definitely see where they get their Michelin star rating and it is well deserved. We did the wine pairing and it really elevated the experience. I highly recommend this place!"

Meckenzie Sprague

"What a fabulous meal! Every bite of every dish was utterly delicious and meticulously prepared. The staff, from chef to greeter, are all professional, relaxed, and welcoming. One of the best omakase meals I've ever had."

One of Orlando’s most coveted bar seats (there are only ten) awaits at this Winter Park omakase star that received its first Michelin star in 2022. Soseki’s “chef’s choice” menu buts a modern spin on one of Japan’s most celebrated culinary traditions while spotlighting Florida terroir both in what’s on the plate (fresh seafood and artfully prepared vegetables) and the plates themselves, some of which are crafted by Florida artisans and are there own tiny little works of art. The roughly 15-course meals are proffered by the chefs behind the counter and served as soon as they’re ready, leaving it to you to grab and try them, creating an informal and intimate experience.

Soseki is Sushi Christmas, an omakase experience where every course sparks the same amount of happiness as a snow day. All the ingredients are excellent, whether it’s seared fatty salmon, delicate toro pieces, or generous mounds of fish roe. Menus are almost never repeated and courses get built with extreme precision—you might get chawanmushi with Cape Canaveral shrimp one day, and saba with battered kombu another—so it’s likely even the most seasoned sushi pros will eat something new.

The Japanese dining experience known as omakase, wherein diners, not presented a menu, turn themselves over to the whim of the chef, is not new to Orlando. It has been an option at sushi restaurants for many years. (This concept isn’t exclusive to sushi restaurants, either – think a degustation or chef’s tasting menu, such as that at Victoria & Albert’s chef’s table.)
