I know this list features a lot of patios in the Old Market, but trust me: Gather is on top of the patio game in a big way. Not only has it reinvented the large patio on Howard Street, in front of the restaurant, it has a second, equally large patio at the back of the restaurant, tucked in a nook off 11th Street. I have dined on both and like them both quite a bit.

In Old Market Omaha lies “Gather in Omaha for Food & Drink” which is a very on-the-nose restaurant name but it works because it’s very delicious. They serve farm-to-table dishes and has their very own Hydroponic Vertical Urban Farm. Every Monday and Wednesday they have special deals on drinks, while Thursdays are reserved for live music.

Another Old Market gem, Gather’s patio holds a special place for me. We went there after our team won the College World Series and had a fascinating, collegial conversation with a complete stranger whose opinions couldn’t have been more different than ours. It was proof that if we try, we can all get along.

Our Old Market happy hour at Gather in Omaha is the perfect way to wind down your work day, or power up for a night out.
