Reviews Summary
Reviews for Timberloft Pizzeria are mixed. While some praise the generous toppings and crispy crust, others criticize the high prices, burnt pizzas, and the use of disposable serviceware. The convenience near Tenaya Lodge is a plus, but food quality concerns are recurrent.
"The 3.6 for this place is undeserved. We went on Memorial day, late evening. The pizza was fresh (not burnt like some of the recent comments mentioned) and while waiting for our takeaway we also saw other tables get their food and it all looked really good. Very generous toppings and reasonable prices too.
We loved the pizza we got and will definitely visit again when we're on that side of the valley"

"I’ve been to this pizza joint a number of times when visiting Tenaya Lodge. It’s always been solid, however, this past visit was pretty rough. Their prices have gotten really high and quality of pizza has gone down. Fountain drinks were $5 each. Seems a little high, but ok, except their fountain machine was down, so we were given cans instead. $20 for 4 cans of soda. Salad bar was one trip and it was $15! It was the equivalent of a salad bar at Round Table Pizza. Nothing special. Then comes the pizza. It was served to us burnt. The cheese was very toasty, which is good in some cases, but the crust was burnt and so was the crust. It was rough. (See pics). I figured it was going to be scalding hot, but instead it was already cold. I don’t know what was going on, but I don’t think I’ll be eating here the next time I come to Tenaya."

"Parking is at the bottom of the restaurant. Entrance is at the top so you have to walk up the road. If you’re staying at the Tenaya lodge they can shuttle you there. If you have your own car it’s faster to drive yourself.
There’s not much service here. You basically seat yourself and grab your own menu. There are 4 preset house special pizzas and if you don’t like those choices you build your own. But the prices doesn’t make sense. The 16” Timberloft Special with 8 ingredients of which 2 are olives and green onions. I’ve never seen a pizza with green onions on it. What “genius” came up with that? This is a $30 pizza. A 16”building your own pizza is $23 with each ingredient costing $3 each. If you add 2 ingredients at $6 then you’re at $29. Get the picture? You’re better off ordering the Timberloft and swapping out the ingredients you don’t like to keep it at $30. That’s what I did.
Another thing about the pizza specials is that the other 3 pizzas list mozzarella as an ingredient except for the Timberloft. When the Timberloft showed up luckily mozzarella was on there. So who lists a pizza with mozzarella? Isn’t it a given that pizza comes with cheese as a minimum?
I also ordered the Sicilian and swapped the olives with jalapeño.
Both pizzas arrived lukewarm which was confusing because it came out fast. The crust was crispy and appeared cooked. The toppings didn’t have the seared look I’m used to seeing so I don’t know if they precooked the crust and then threw the toppings on or the toppings were cold to start with and didn’t cook all the way through. Either way the pizzas looked great but tasted lame because the sauce, cheese and toppings weren’t hot.
I also ordered a salad bar plate. After given the plate I notice the romaine lettuce tray was empty. I asked them to refill it and they said they ran out off romaine lettuce Don’t you think that would be a pertinent piece of information before a customer orders the salad bar? It’s like going to eat at a steak house and you find out they ran out of rib eyes.
This is the reason I despise restaurants that have you order and tip at the counter before you receive your food. What’s is there to tip when all you do is just take the order and serve the food once?"
