Reviews Summary
O'Brien's Pub is celebrated for its lively Irish pub atmosphere, extensive drink selection, and a family-friendly patio that offers entertainment for children. Diners consistently praise signature dishes like the lobster roll and mudslides. While the food and ambiance generally receive high marks, some reviews mention inconsistent service and a need for better attentiveness from waitstaff, particularly on busy occasions or when children are present in the patio area.
"Perfect “all around” spot on Thames St that has the best outdoor atmosphere on a street packed with excellent restaurants and stores.
We sat in the outdoor patio area with two kids, we shared some great apps specifically the humus player was great and full sized to really share. Food was good and great for a family with plenty of options.
Highly recommend here when you’re looking to get a good value and easy food service in between more posh restaurants that are very particular in their food and style."

"Enjoyed a quiet off-season weeknight dinner! Hubby had the fish and chips, they were fresh and crisp but not heavy! Delicious! I had the beef stew which was AMAZING, some of the best I’ve ever had. Rich and delicious, perfect for a chilly night! We’ll be back, looks like they offer a lot of great things!"

"Good outdoor patio. Great drinks, food, and music in the afternoon. The service was non-existent. The wait staff were standing around vs attending to tables. The restaurant was practically empty due to rain, but no wait staff at the high tops. Ended up going to the bar to order drinks and food. The frozen mudslide with a floater was great as was the veggie burger. I would recommend them both.
There is a great pond in the center for kids to play and catch plastic fish toys.
Do not sit at the high tops unless you are using the bar for service. The bartenders were great, but the wait staff definitely needs training in customer service."
