We ordered a bunch of stuff to share and none of us had any complaints. The only thing I was surprised about was the size of my grilled octopus. It was the tiniest piece and barely big enough to be counted as an entree.

"We checked in at 4:30 PM on a Friday and got a table for two without a wait, which was surprising since they don’t take reservations.
The food was mostly flavorful, but many dishes were too salty. We tried octopus, veal, hand-cut steak, fried rabbit, and tonnarelli pasta. The veal was amazing, and the rabbit was similar to chicken but with a unique flavor we loved.
The pasta was disappointing. We asked for it last, and while it was well-made, it was too salty, so we sent it back.
The tiramisu was a highlight — rich, creamy, and delicious.
The cocktails were average or below average. We tried five drinks, and none stood out. They could improve their cocktail offerings.
The menu was entirely in Italian, making it hard to understand and order. An English version would help.

If you’re planning to visit Via Carota, be prepared to wait — it’s a popular spot and the wait time can be up to two hours. But let me tell you: it’s absolutely worth it.
I started with one of their cocktails, and I was genuinely impressed — well-balanced, smooth, and crafted with care. For food, I ordered the charred pork belly with plums agrodolce and the octopus.
The pork belly dish was the highlight: the sweetness of the plums paired with the char created an incredible balance of flavor that felt both refined and bold. Truly unforgettable. The octopus was flavorful as well — a bit overcooked in texture, but still enjoyable.
The service was great, attentive but never rushed. If you’re looking for a quintessential New York dining experience with thoughtful dishes and a vibrant atmosphere, Via Carota is a must-visit. Just come with patience — the food makes the wait worth it."
