On the food side, it’s in your best interest to order the pombaza burger (juicy dry-aged beef topped with a tangle of smoked onions, queso asado and a fried egg), along with the weekend-only masa griddle cakes, dusted with Oaxacan chocolate, bananas and walnuts.

Let me start by saying that Oxomoco Mexican food is Michelin starred!. So you know you're getting something super tasty right off the bat. It's a great place for an intimate gathering or even with a larger group of people.

Walking into this five-year-old Greenpoint, Brooklyn, restaurant gave me Mexico City vibes. In fact, if Oxomoco were picked up and dropped there, you might walk by it without noticing. But Oxomco is worth seeking out.
