Reviews Summary
McAdoo's Seafood Company is highly praised for its delicious Creole-Cajun seafood, fresh oysters, and the unique ambiance of its historic post office setting. Diners love the flavorful dishes and attentive service. However, the restaurant can get very busy, often leading to waits for tables even with reservations.
"From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Our servers went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and it truly elevated our entire dining experience. We came 2 different days and tried the dinner menu and Sunday brunch.
We started with the clam chowder, and wow—creamy, flavorful, and packed with delicious seafood. Easily one of the best we've ever had!
The two salmon dishes we tried were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with the perfect blend of seasoning. The pancakes and chicken & waffles were another highlight—crispy, fluffy, sweet, and savory all in one. Absolute comfort food bliss!
And don't even think about skipping dessert—you NEED to save room. Every bite was indulgent and totally worth it.
This place is a gem in New Braunfels. We’ll definitely be back again (and again). Highly recommend! 🙌🔥"

"McAdoo’s Seafood Company is one of my favorite spots in NB. The food is always delicious and the seafood is so fresh, especially the oysters which are some of the best I’ve had. The menu has a great variety and everything I’ve tried has been full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The building itself is stunning inside and out. It has so much character and charm, and the interior feels upscale but still comfortable and welcoming. The only downside is that it’s usually very busy and you often have to wait for a table even if you have a reservation. That said, the food and atmosphere are totally worth it. Just be prepared to wait a little and enjoy a drink while you do. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area!"

"McAdoo’s Seafood Company delivers a seafood feast with flavor, versatility, and a warm atmosphere. Housed in a beautifully renovated historic post office, the restaurant blends upscale elegance with a welcoming, casual vibe that resonates with both locals and visitors.
The menu showcases fresh Creole-Cajun influences, enchiladas, oysters, scallops, and the ever-popular seafood fondue, all prepared with notable flair.
We truly enjoyed the food and service and valued the attentive recommendations and the flexibility in accommodating our special requests.
Overall, McAdoo’s shines when it comes to flavorful seafood, thoughtful service, and a cozy yet refined setting. It’s a standout pick in New Braunfels for those craving quality seafood in a memorable ambiance."

That being said, our two favorite local spots always seem to knock it out of the park: Krause’s Cafe and McAdoo’s Seafood Co. Bearing the traditional mark of New Braunfels’ Deutsch heritage, Krause’s is both “German classics and Texan favorites”, living up to its reputation with a lively outdoor garden and of the largest tap walls in the city. On a different historic note, McAdoo’s Seafood Co & Oyster Bar offers incredible creole fare in a restored century-old Post Office in downtown New Braunfels.
