What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Butchertown Hall is celebrated for its exceptional smoked brisket and vibrant, stylish atmosphere, offering a unique blend of Central Texas BBQ and Tex-Mex flavors. While many rave about the ambiance and signature dishes like brisket and ribeye, some diners found certain dishes overly salty, and the dark lighting can make reading the menu challenging. Service is generally praised, though occasional waits are common.
"A bit pricey, but worth it. Wow, the brisket was crazy amazing…full of flavor and juice. We did have to wait and it was a Tuesday night! So come with reservations! And I also loved the ambiance. It was very stylish, yet comfortable and low-key. We would definitely return."

"I came here upon recommendation from my friend. He had come last year and ranted and raved about it. We were seated relatively quickly, however we were placed in a tiny table by the door and it was freezing. We ended up getting moved to a booth farther from the door. I will say this place is all about the ambiance, meaning it is so dark it’s hard to read the menu. I ordered the smoked pork tenderloin and Brussel sprouts and my friend ordered the ribeye with Brussel sprouts and side salad. I will say the ribeyewas amazing- very tender, seared well and the Brussel sprouts were also good. The side salad had some dressing on it that made it inedible for me. However, my pork chops were a different story. For one I thought I had ordered 1 full pork chop, but instead it came out a bunch of tiny pork chops cut up. Second, it was soo salty. So salty in fact that I couldn’t eat this dish and ended up giving it to my friend. As someone who eats rather salty food, this was over the top to the point it tasted like they had brined it in salt and then poured on another couple tablespoons. We did have decent service but I was very disappointed that I was unable to eat my main entree. If I came back again I would definitely recommend a steak."

"Hall:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best brunch of our entire trip!
We had the most incredible experience at Butchertown Hall in Germantown, TN. I ordered the steak & eggs with a side of Brussels sprouts perfectly cooked, packed with flavor. Our friends went for the brisket sandwiches, and WOW… mind-blowing good! Tender, smoky, and everything you could possibly want in the perfect brisket sandwich.
Noah, Aaron, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel like special guests. The service matched the quality of the food ,flawless. I’ll be recommending this spot to everyone visiting Nashville.
Tip: Don’t leave without trying their homemade biscuits. Trust me, it’s a must-do for Sunday brunch! The shaved Mexican street corn is fire.
By far our favorite food on our wedding trip."

Butchertown Hall's meat-centric menu honors the historical butcher shops of its neighborhood, Germantown and draws meat lovers and paleo dieters alike. Get your protein fix with street tacos, sausages, ribs and burgers, among other meaty offerings. The modern interior (think subway tile, sleek fixtures) and bustling scene isn't well-suited for intimate conversation (In other words, it can get pretty loud), but the outdoor patio is. Unlike many other meat-focus menus, street tacos and other dishes let you get a taste without feeling like you ate the whole cow.
The 22 Best Barbecue Joints In Nashville, 2023
Located near historic Morgan Park in the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville, Butchertown Hall boasts the "finest smoked brisket outside of Austin." The idea behind restauranteur Terry Raley's eatery is modern barbeque, inspired by the Central Texas meat market culture that he enjoyed in his childhood. Raley combined that inspiration with recipes and styles he found in late 19th-century butcher shops of Nashville, and the result is a restaurant bursting with historically-inspired, yet modern flavor. The barbecue is delish, especially the brisket.
