This week Campiello (one of my favorites in town) is opening a new restaurant on Fifth -- loungey downstairs -- dining room and outdoor terrace upstairs -- where Annabelle's used to be. I forget the name of the new place.

BiCE occupies a quieter spot on glitzy 5th Avenue South and their Italian food is distinct and upscale with a menu that offers traditional and authentic ingredients with modern presentations. One of their signature dishes — the classic Ossobuco di Vitello con Risotto alla Milanese (Braised Veal Shank Osso Buco) — is hearty and off-the-charts fantastic. If that’s a bit on the heavy side, try the Pappardelle with mozzarella and fresh basil in tomato cream sauce, or the Tri-Colore Insalata of radicchio, endive and arugula with shaved parmigiano.
