What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Johnny D's Waffles is celebrated for its extensive and inventive menu, particularly its unique waffle creations and delicious Benedicts. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly and attentive service, with many highlighting specific servers for making their experience exceptional. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, a rare mention of over-salted home fries suggests minor inconsistencies can occur.
"I was looking for a good local breakfast place, and stumbled upon Johnny D's on the internet. We had seen billboards for it around town which further cemented the fact that we should come visit. My sister and I visited around 9 am on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The menu had a lot of offerings that were unique from other breakfast places I have been to. Cloe was our server, was very nice, and checked in on us frequently. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette and added spinach, and had a fruit cup as my side instead of grits. I also got white toast. My sister ordered a red velvet waffle and a side of home fries. The red velet waffle was delicious! I had just a bite- but it was fluffy and flavorful. The home fries were well-seasoned and tasted great. The omelette was delicious and had just the amount of bacon, spinach, and cheese that I hoped for. The fruit cup was also good, the fruit tasted fresh. The prices were reasonable for a local breakfast place. Overall, I had a really good time here and would definitely come back."

"This place is such an awesome find. Whether it’s breakfast, brunch, or lunch… They deliver in spades! Unique and classic menu items… Honestly one of the better breakfast/brunch menus I’ve ever seen. All the food we got was absolutely delicious, you cannot go wrong. Take your servers recommendations… But understand that peoples taste are different so go with your gut and get the one you really want! My kids loved everything they had to eat as well. But the shining star of the visit, in all honesty, was our server Daphne. She was attentive, communicative, made great recommendations, had an amazing demeanor, and really made our visit special… And you could tell she wasn’t even trying, it’s just the way she is."
Drew Harris
"True to the south, great breakfast and great service! The exterior was clean and good repair the inside was spotless. The entry was quickly greeted and service didn’t falter. The portions generous with great flavors. Hot and fresh. Everything they claim to be was given to us. New Yorkers that rely on greasy spoons in NY this was a treat."
