Reviews Summary

Old Monterey Cafe is praised for its generous portions, fresh ingredients, and cozy, nostalgic atmosphere that makes diners feel at home. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality and service, with occasional issues regarding order accuracy and upcharges. Despite minor complaints, many consider it a must-visit for breakfast in Monterey.

"I’ve been wanting to try this spot for a while, but it’s always busy which makes sense now that I’ve finally had the chance to visit! I stopped by on a weekday and got to fully enjoy the experience without the usual crowd.

The interior is beautifully decorated with old vintage signage, giving the place a cozy and nostalgic vibe. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming atmosphere.

the staff made us feel right at home. They greeted us immediately and were on top of their game with customer service, it’s clearly a priority here.

The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the chorizo with eggs and eggs Benedict, and I was blown away by how generous the portions were. They don’t hold back when it comes to serving up a full plate! Every bite was delicious, and you can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients.

If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit breakfast spot. If going on a weekend then plan to arrive early since they’re very busy on weekends."

"This place serves delicious breakfast indeed. I love the pancakes because it doesn't seem or tastes like store-bought at all and they come huge!!! Highly recommend"

Apisit M Ch.

"Cute place with eclectic decor. Inside outside seating. Friendly, efficient service.
Had the club house sandwich. Was upcharged 1.75 for Swiss cheese that I never got. Bread was dry and bacon a little too chewy. Fries were good."
