Reviews Summary

Mama's On Dauphin is lauded for its authentic, home-style Southern cooking and warm, attentive service, creating a comforting dining experience. While many rave about dishes like pork chops and banana pudding, some reviewers have noted inconsistencies in food preparation and taste, particularly with sides like mac and cheese or squash casserole, and occasional slow service.

"Wow! If you are in Mobile, AL - EAT HERE! The best soul home cooked food you can hope for. Everyone including the kids cleared everything on their plates.
Owner is FANTASTIC! They made us a special dessert, and the conversation and service were an absolute joy!"

Dana Agmon

"Outstanding welcoming service. Shrimp and grits was also good- not the most amazing I’ve had but decent and great value for the price.

Finished up with banana pudding which was excellent."

Steven Simao

"I remember coming here a few years ago and it was awesome. I guess they changed management or something. The service was fine. Inside was a little cramped but it was ok. The food came out suspiciously fast. I ordered country fried steak and my company ordered fried chicken and sides. It came out in less than 5 minutes. Which makes it obvious that it's not freshly made. The macaroni we ordered was very grainy and had a weird texture. The green beans were completely bland, no seasoning at all. Corn bread muffin was very dry. The country fried steak was fine as were the mashed potatoes. The prices are reasonable but I will not be coming here again."
