Beyond Brisket

If you don't eat beef, try their wings or beans as brisket is not on the menu.

Reviews Summary

Dreamland BBQ is celebrated for its legendary, tender ribs and classic, fun atmosphere. Many diners rave about the unique loaded fries and the highly praised banana pudding. However, some reviews mention inconsistent side dish quality, with one noting particularly bland baked beans, and others have experienced long wait times.

"We had an excellent meal at the restaurant. We had a rack of ribs and the loaded fries with rib tips. The meal starts with bread and barbecue sauce, which while quite simple, was very good. The bread was nothing special, but the sauce was very good with a nice tang to it.
The ribs were very well done, being tender but not falling off the bone, perfect. The ribs really don't need sauce, but the sauce was a good addition as it is not your typical overly sweet sauce.
The loaded fries were a great choice that we both really enjoyed. The cheese sauce mixed with the barbecue sauce and made a delicious side. The ribs tips topped it off and were great.
It was our first trip to Mobile, and we were very glad we chose Dreamland for dinner.
The service was excellent, even asking if we wanted drinks to go as we were leaving.
Highly recommended!"

"I rarely visit dreamland but decided to give them a try. I only went for a side of baked beans shortly after opening as a side to an entree I already had. Once I made it home I opened the beans and was disappointed. First, the beans appeared to have bubbles in them, which was very odd. Second, They looked terrible, like watered-down bean soup. I decided to give it a small taste anyway, and it was by far the worst beans I've ever eaten. They tasted like water and beans with little to no flavor. So bad I didn't swallow one bite but rather threw them out. I thought about returning them but didn't want to waste my time or gas. I don't know if this is the standard, but they were horrible. Pics for proof. Never again!"

"Cool atmosphere at Dreamland! Waitress, JoHanna, was extra sweet and very helpful! She was very pleasant, sharing stories and history of the place. All foods came in a timely manner. They do give you a few slices of regular fresh white bread (odd) and bbq dipping sauce before any of the meal. We had a plate rib tips and pulled pork, which was too dry and hard to chew. No, I didn't tell the waitress!!! I don't do that! That's just ME! Our dog loved it! My husband had a Pulled Pork Sandwich.
The sides were Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Fried Okra (very good), Fried Green Tomatoes, and Potatoe Salad (My FAVORITE!!!) Oh.....and I can't forget the Best Banana Pudding in the South! It was freshly made, just like I like it!
The Tea seemed fresh, but.....not to my liking.
The restaurant was clean and full of photos and such from the past. It's not much to look at from the outside, but go inside to see all the cool stuff! Great music and friendly service! If i get back over that way......it's 60 miles from where we live......I'll get some tater salad and nanner pudding to go, along with a couple of t-shirts!
Go and check the place out for yourself and let me know what you think!
Thanks again, JoHanna, for such awesome customer service!!!"
