What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about the Broken Oar's incredible sweet potato fries and the warm, rustic lodge atmosphere. Service is frequently highlighted as exceptional, with attentive staff making guests feel welcome. While most meals are highly praised, some find certain dishes like the brisket a bit tough, and the sweet potato fries can be overly sweet for some palates. Overall, it's a beloved spot for hearty American fare.
"The Broken Oar Restaurant was recommend by friends back home in Tampa, FL that had visited Moab and also by the hotel desk clerk. We walked over and were immediately seated (5pm dinner) The service was amazing, thank you Aubrey! The food was flavorful, and plentiful. We arrived hungry after hiking all day and left full and satisfied. We had a couple of issues due to my wife being picky(sorry honey) and a misunderstanding with the bill. Aubrey and the management staff and the cooks all did everything they could to make sure we were getting everything as expected and that our experience was amazing! I highly recommend giving this establishment a chance to satisfy your cravings!"

"We enjoyed dinner at The Broken Oar in Moab. Although there was a line when we arrived, we were seated quickly. Franklin, our server, was friendly and attentive throughout. The atmosphere felt delightful—think rustic mountain cabin meets cozy lodge, with warm wooden décor and a welcoming vibe.
My wife had the honey-glazed salmon: well-cooked and flavorful, though the sauce was a bit heavy. My daughter’s chicken fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and full of flavor; the chicken was tender and not dry. My son’s spareribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious. I tried the Beast Burger, cooked perfectly medium-rare; I enjoyed it, but next time I’ll go for the spareribs! The overall experience—great food, a cozy ambiance, and a standout server—made it a memorable meal."

"Came to Broken Oar for an early 5pm dinner and we were seated immediately! Very fitting decor, with heavy wooden chairs and oars hanging on every wall, and a great playlist. We started our meal with their signature sweet potato fries, covered in all sorts of yummy stuff— a MUST. For our entrees, we enjoyed tender medallions, sirloin steak, both served with asparagus as their seasonal vegetable, and a pulled pork sandwich oozing with barbecue sauce. Our server Shay was so wonderful and friendly (with the cutest nails). Overall, would recommend for their great ambiance and delicious food!"
