Reviews Summary

Diners consistently praise Desert Bistro for its inventive Southwestern and French-inspired cuisine, exceptional service, and intimate, charming atmosphere. Many highlight signature dishes like the bison and sea bass as standouts. While noted as pricey, the quality and dining experience are considered well worth the cost, making it a popular choice for special occasions.

"We came here after a long day of hiking at 2 national parks. We were famished and wanted to grab some good food before all of the restaurants closed. Although this is a nicer restaurant, they welcomed us even in hiking clothes! All of the selections were fresh and delicious. It's a pricey place, but know that going in. This is not a chain, but a nice local restaurant. Though not on the menu, they had a great selection for ny children and were very accommodating. We had an appetizer, salad, kids meals, meal, dessert, and coffee. This has been the best meal of our trip. Most expensive as well, but we considered it a treat. Our waitress, Shelby, was absolutely delightful! My husband loved his bison and I loved my filet."

"We celebrated our anniversary at Desert Bistro, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel special and welcomed. We brought the first layer of our wedding cake with us, and their pastry chef so kindly revamped its decor up for us with care such a thoughtful touch that meant a lot.

The food was absolutely top-notch; I had the Chilean Seabass and my wife had the Bison every dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive and left a lasting impression. The entire evening felt intimate, warm, and perfectly tailored for a celebration. We’re so grateful for the kindness of the staff and the exceptional service. Highly recommend Desert Bistro for any special occasion or just a great night out in Moab."

"If I could give it more stars I would!! Fantastic food quality and presentation, excellent service, and great atmosphere. The cuisine to me is Utah - fresh, local, with some southwestern flair. Price was reasonable for the quality, I left feeling like it was money well spent. The Chef is very creative and put Moab on a plate for me with the special of the night a pistachio crusted bison filet with blackberry sauce. Great job !!

Reservations are recommended. You can park right across the street in the public lot then walk over."

Restaurants in Moab and Southeastern Utah

Moab's finest dining experience is found in a small adobe house just off Main Street. Whether you eat inside or on either of the peaceful patios, anticipate thoughtful flavor combinations in artful salads, locally sourced beef, and delicious vegetables. The handmade agnolotti pasta stuffed with mushrooms and Italian cheeses, and the beef fillet crusted with gorgonzola are both impressive.

While most Moab restaurants won’t give you a second glance if you come in covered in a fine layer of desert dust, you’ll definitely want to get cleaned up a bit before visiting this fine dining establishment. The menu puts a Southwestern spin on classic French cuisine, with nightly game specials and fresh seafood flown in from the coast. Desert Bistro - Moab, Utah

My Kim didn’t buy my explanation that Moab is an acronym standing for “Mother Of All Buffets.” She did find my legitimate explanation viable. I explained that Moab means “a land just short of the Promised Land,” a name bestowed because the Moab valley was a verdant oasis in the middle of a desert. Moab first appears in the Old Testament book of Genesis and is situated in ancient Palestine just east of the Dead Sea where Jordan now lies.

11 Best Places To Eat In Moab (Budget to Fine Dining)

For a fine dining experience that can’t be topped anywhere in Grand County, my absolute favorite restaurant in Moab is Desert Bistro. Normally when dining out in Moab I show up in whatever hiking outfit I’ve worn for the day, or other similar attire, but if you show up at Desert Bistro with a layer of red rock dust you will certainly feel out of place. This is a dining experience that deserves at least dressy-casual or nicer attire.
