Reviews Summary

Tam Tam is celebrated for its creative, flavorful Vietnamese dishes, lively atmosphere, and excellent service, making it a must-visit spot in Miami. While most diners rave about standout dishes like the wings and scallop salad, some find certain items like the tartare or ribs can be overwhelmed by sauce. Despite a few minor critiques, the restaurant's unique vibe and culinary execution solidify its status as a top dining destination.

"Had a great experience at Tam Tam Miami. The oysters were beautiful and incredibly flavorful, and the scallop crudo was delicious—light, fresh, and tasty enough to sip like a soup thanks to the sauce. The fish sauce wings were amazing—crispy, savory, and perfectly balanced. The mushrooms were decent, though a bit lacking in flavor compared to the other standout dishes. I wrapped up with the cheesecake, which was sweet and satisfying—not traditional Vietnamese, but still a great finish. Overall, the service was attentive and warm, and I appreciated the creative take on Vietnamese flavors."

"Honest review:Disappointed in the Vietnamese food option. Definitely spot on the drinking spot. Not as much for the food. Waiter did well not writing down the order. Definitely used process of elimination with how much we ordered. Bathroom one was super dark and the other had a Kareoke tv in it. Was interesting. The scallop dish was spot on very delicious and well a balanced. The beef tar tar had too much sauce and you couldn’t appreciate the tar tar aspect of the dish and could really only taste the sauce. Same with the oyster dish. Was so covered up you couldn’t taste the base oyster. Quail was over cooked and very dry in the inside. The outside was a bit burned and was moist, but mostly because the sauce absorbed into the skin. The bone marrow was a delicious, but I mean bone marrow hard to mess up. Chicken wing was decent I guess for my preference would have loved a little spice. It was a decent dish. Pork rib was cooked very good. Meat fell off the bone, but the sauce overwhelmed the dish. Lamb wrap was very delicious. I thought the pineapple was a nice addition to the wrap. (Not pictured) escarole. Was just the ram rau with shrimp flakes and scallion oil and cilantro. If you like cutting your own salad to each their own. No actual meat on it, which I prefer. Again a preference. For the prices I expected a little bit more, but again this is just my viewpoint. 4 people check total was 265$ with 18% gratuity already included."

Leonard Simon

"Wow wow wow, what a place! Had an amazing dinner here with my girlfriend, and it was just flavor bombs all around. The drinks were fantastic, the beef tartare was honestly one of the best I have ever had, and the chicken wings were absolutely magical. Two dishes really stood out and were the absolute best. This place is a must-visit!"

There is no restaurant in this city like Tâm Tâm—and not just because Miami lacks the Vietnamese options of many major cities. It just has a very rare combination of exciting food, contagious fun-having, and design details sure to imminently overtake your algorithm. The worn wood paneling left over from the previous occupant makes Tâm Tâm feel lived-in like a favorite pair of jeans, and one bathroom is a disco karaoke hallucination.

The couple based the idea of Tâm Tâm on the Vietnamese phrase quán nhau, which loosely translates to a place where friends gather to enjoy food, drinks, and life in general. Situated on a quiet corner in downtown, the small but vibrant Cuban cafe turned Vietnamese restaurant has an old bakery display case and ventanita window at its entrance. There are wood-paneled walls, barstools with fun patterns, and a large framed photo of actress Jane Fonda, formerly a staunch anti-Vietnam War activist.

Tâm Tâm seems unassuming when you first step foot inside its Downtown Miami doors, but it'll blow you away when the food is placed on the table in front of you.
