Reviews Summary

Neptune's Net offers a classic, casual seafood experience with a strong biker-friendly vibe and stunning ocean views. While the fresh seafood and quick service are often praised, some diners find the food to be average in taste and slightly pricey, with occasional complaints about cleanliness.

"Very cool place with super fast service! Our food came sooo fast!😃 Loved their variety of salads and local beer & ciders, as well as the delicious local ice cream macaron😍The only thing is, you’d probably want to go with the separate fried seafood options - they looked much better than the mixed ones. Plenty of free parking, across the street you can enjoy your food with an ocean view (there are little stand tables), and you can have a nice walk afterwards. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Malibu!"

"Great spot on the beach. The seafood is so tasty. I got the shrimp and chips which were breaded and fried just right. Can't beat the view of the Pacific from your table. Their menu is huge so many great items to choose from."

Robert Prescott

"My family and I stopped here after a day at the beach. We were all craving some fried fish and this was a spot they had been to before.
Despite being a pretty busy Sunday afternoon, there was lots of seating inside and outside with a beautiful overlook of the sea.
You order inside by grabbing a drink from the fridges and then picking from an array of (mostly fried) fish options. They had other food choices but we all got different fish.
Food came out super quick, we probably only waited about 5 minutes and everything was hot and fresh and super filling. There is a condiment bar where you can grab your own sauces and coleslaw. Their cocktail sauce has a little bit of a kick to it! The food itself wasn't salted, so you did have to salt it yourself, but I understand that helps appeal to a wider audience.
They also had a separate part where you could order fresh fish but we didn't go in there. They also had some fun merch items and I did end up getting these sandals that were in the shape of crabs 🦀
Overall we really enjoyed our meal. The only downside is I felt like the food was on the pricier side. So if you go with your family, expect to pay at least $100 if everyone wants a drink and their own item."

Best Restaurants & Bars in Malibu: All the Places Worth Visiting Now

The antithesis of fancy-schmancy spots like Nobu and Soho House to your south, head north to this seafood shack-meets-dive-bar-meets-biker-hangout with a parking lot that turns into a sea of motorcycles every weekend. Its deep fryer stays perennially busy with platters of fried fish, shrimp, scallops, calamari, and clams, all served with a side of fries for good measure. If breaded stuff cooked in a vat of oil isn’t your thing, go for a seared ahi plate, a bucket of peel and eats, or a garden salad, if you must, but at least wash it down with a beer for God’s sake. How to book: Walk-ins welcome.

Top Ten Things You Must Do in Malibu

There are few places that convey the pre-luxury charm of Malibu like Neptune's Net, a no-frills, old-school seafood joint that hat has been popular with bikers for decades. Located on the West/North half of Malibu, a ways further down from the most popular beaches, Neptune's Net offers two versions of the standard beach town fare: the "Restaurant Side," serving fried food and bottled and canned beverages, and the "Seafood Side," offering fresh and live seafood and draft beer. Neptune's Net's picturesque Malibu charm has resulted in many movie and TV appearances, including The Fast and the Furious, Gilmore Girls and the original Point Break, where it serves as the location where Keanu Reeves asks waitress Lori Petty to teach him how to surf.
