Reviews Summary

John's Garden is praised for its fresh ingredients and healthy options, particularly its wraps and smoothies, offering a convenient and pleasant outdoor dining experience. However, some diners find the prices high for the portion sizes, and there have been isolated incidents of poor food quality or service.

"Had a great Sunday in Malibu, at the beach, walking around and ended up getting lunch from John's Garden. I ordered the BU-BERRY protein smoothie and a chicken avocado wrap with side salad, and could not be more pleased with the food and customer service. Everyone working there was very welcoming and friend."

Atanas Petrov

"BLTA- $18. But the toast was so hard you could hardly bite it. Definitely not soft sourdough. Overcooked crispy bacon. Huge wedge of lettuce. Not recommended to order again. Especially for the high price tag!

Avocado wrap- $18 Better option. Spinach tortilla was good. Avocado, Feta, and cucumbers had a Greek flavor to them. Chicken was a little bland, but acceptable with the other flavors. Still over priced, maybe $12-15 is more appropriate.

Both sandwiches came with a side salad with balsamic dressing. A little too salty, but otherwise yummy and a nice side.

Overall, for the price, I'm not sure if it was worth it. Maybe it's a location thing and the price reflects that. If so, stick to the wrap, not the BLTA.

Nice quiet outdoor picnic tables."

"I understand the concept and I really liked the store but the sandwiches were not worth it! 80%of the sandwiches are greens the bread is dry and overall very low quality sandwiches"

John's Garden in Malibu has evolved from its humble beginnings in 1955 as a door-to-door produce delivery service to a beloved local eatery at the Malibu Country Mart since 1975. Originally a fruit stand founded by John Musante and his sons, it now offers a range of fresh sandwiches, salads, soups, and shakes under the stewardship of Boyan Kinov, who took over in 2013 after working there for five years. Alongside his brother Kalin and friend Ivo Spirov, Boyan continues the tradition of serving high-quality, health-conscious meals, including modern additions like acai bowls and healthy drinks.
