Reviews Summary

LouVino Douglass Hills Restaurant & Wine Bar is praised for its extensive wine selection and creative Southern-style small plates, creating a fashionable and relaxed dining experience. Diners often highlight the enjoyable ambiance and attentive service, particularly for celebratory occasions. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food preparation, with certain appetizers being over-fried, and occasional issues with service speed and professionalism.

"Upscale restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere, both inside and outside. We did not sit outside but will probably try the outdoor patio on our next visit. Nicely decorated and plenty of tables.

The food was a big hit with everyone. Two of us tried the June special, TOCORASHI CRUSTED AHI TUNA and it both agreed it was outstanding! Fresh tuna seared and crusted with a wonderful flavor. It was a good size piece of tuna and brought out hot. Others tried the Airline chicken and I believe one tried the Salmon and another the hamburger. All were satisfied completely.

Happy hour is a good time to go for some good deals. We had fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and it turned out to be one of the best we have had. Breading was loaded with flavor and the sauce was a nice accompaniment. Spinach Artichoke dip with fresh fried triangles was also delicious.

For dessert we had the Beignets that were complementary for one of our couples celebrating their anniversary. Everyone snarfed them up quickly and it was the perfect end to our meal. Plan on having them now for my next visit.

Service was over the top. Way over! Our waiter, Fred was very professional and was attentive without being overbearing. He handled our table of eight with the skill of a seasoned veteran. If you do go, ask for Fred. He will not disappoint. I thought the prices were very reasonable, especially given the high quality and quantity. If you’re looking for a good restaurant to take a date, this is it! This was my first visit but won’t be my last. I look forward to my next visit."

"Fun brunch place.
There's a great variety of drinks and I appreciate the puns on the menu.
Highly recommend the bacon. It's cooked perfectly crisp.
The pancake tacos were good, especially with the spicy maple syrup that actually had a noticeable 'kick' to it.
I don't recommend the fried green tomatoes. They were too bready and the tomato was tough.
Donuts were delicious with a biscuit-like texture, but I'm not sure if the icing was supposed to be the consistency of milk."

"We’ve been long time Louvino goers, we were so sad when the Bardstown Rd location closed. We love coming after work for a drink & an app. It’s been maybe 2 months since we’ve been. We came for dinner and decided to get our usual - charcuterie, some drinks, and steak frites. When the charcuterie board came out, we were so disappointed. Some of the other restaurants in Louisville started doing the same thing with their boards, putting 85% of the board with a random concoction of grapes, mixed pickled vegetables, ect. and when coming to Louvino we thought there was no chance they’re also doing the same thing. Their boards used to be comprised of a good amount of cheese, meats, honey, mustards, ect. When our board came out, it was indeed still $30 and just like the rest of the boards in Louisville restaurants. 85%+ of random assortment of pickled vegetables, and the cheeses were warm :(. We love this place but for $30, i don’t want to pay for some grapes & pickled peppers, honestly kinda ridiculous. The bar tender was nice and pleasant as always, great staff - Kristi is nice as can be. The steak frites were 10/10. Hopeful next time they change their charuterie back!!!"
