What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
610 Magnolia is celebrated for its creative and sophisticated tasting menus that artfully blend Southern and Asian flavors. Diners consistently praise the warm, attentive service and the cozy, elegant ambiance, making it ideal for special occasions. While most dishes receive high marks, some reviews mention occasional slowness in service or average cocktails, though the overall experience is considered memorable and worth the price.
"Edward Lee in Kentucky? Didn’t see that coming—until I did.
After catching him on Culinary Class Wars, I was surprised (and thrilled) to find out he had a spot just a few hours from Cincinnati. So we made a little road trip—two toddlers, one overnight bag, and zero regrets.
610 Magnolia is classy without being stiff. The food? Every bite lived up to the hype. Wine pairing was a knockout—My Favorite Neighbor might just be our new house white. The staff, absolute pros. They even gave us the heads-up that there’s no kids menu, so we McDonald’s’ed the kids ahead of time and handed them iPads while we savored each course. (Don’t worry, they got dessert. We’re not monsters.)
A top-tier dining experience that’s worth the drive—and the babysitter, if you can swing one."

"We celebrated a birthday at 610 Magnolia and overall had a lovely evening. The ambience was warm and intimate, and the staff was gracious and attentive. A complimentary glass of champagne for the birthday was a thoughtful touch. Most dishes on the tasting menu were excellent, especially the soft-shell crab, sourdough bread, and red snapper. The price felt fair for the quality and presentation. However, service was slow at times, with one course taking nearly 30 minutes to arrive. While the kitchen kindly adapted the menu for pescatarians, the main course felt rushed and lacked cohesion. Cocktails were average and didn’t match the level of the food. Despite a few shortcomings, 610 Magnolia offers a memorable experience and is worth visiting—especially for a special occasion.
Note: a service charge is automatically added to the bill, so be aware when tipping."

"The tasting menu was lovely. There were flavor and texture surprises throughout that made the meal really enjoyable. The bourbon aficionado dessert, the marinated cucumber, and the gnocchi were especially memorable."

James Beard-nominated chef Edward Lee (also of Milkwood) has built a reputation pushing the boundaries of the Southern cuisine—and the bar program at 610 Magnolia is no different. Served in a clear glass rather than the customary pewter julep cup, bar manager Ricardo Barillas’ version has essentially the same basic building blocks of crushed ice, bourbon (he uses Jefferson’s Very Old), and mint, but the simple syrup is made with rosewater—a nod to the mantle of red roses draped across the champion Thoroughbred’s neck—and then cold-infused with more fresh rose petals, lemon peel, and just-picked mint.
