Reviews Summary

Open Sesame Grill is celebrated for its consistently good food, especially the grilled meats and popular starters like spicy garlic potatoes and fried cauliflower. Diners also praise the warm atmosphere and attentive service, making it a beloved Lebanese staple. Some reviews mention the food can be slightly bland at times, but the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.

"Last night my wife and I and a friend of ours dined here. This is the 2nd time my wife and I visited here. This restaurant is very popular and usually a line of people waiting to be seated.

We were in luck, while the receptionist was busy with others, the manager asked how many in our party...we said three. Within 3 minutes he took us directly inside. Felt great to be treated so well.

The manager introduced our waitress to us. She was very happy and made us all feel very comfortable.

She quickly took our appetizer order, garlic fries and the Meza sampler which consisted of 3 stuffed grape leaves calmata olives hummus toboule labneh and yogurt dip with all the Peta bread you want.

Our order came quickly. Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS on the appetizers..it was very tasty and none went to waist.

I had a Moroccan Green Ice tea which was light and refreshing, my wife had the Tamarind
indian date syrup infused with rose water it was very tasty. Our friend had a red wine which he said was great.

We ordered the Beef Kabob
prime top sirloin, parsley, onion, sumac, basmati rice. Served with pita bread choice of one dip and one salad. The beef was absolutely cooked to medium perfection. The rice was so good my wife ordered a side of rice. Combining all that into a folded pita bread was mouth watering to say the least.

Our friend ordered the same. He loved it.

The ambiance was very nice the service was great. We highly recommend dining at Open Sesame."

"Steven and I had such a great dining experience in Long Beach and I’m thoroughly impressed. We ordered the Yassmina pizza and I had the chicken shawarma plate—everything was incredible. The grilled chicken might be the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked—juicy, never dry—with a smoky, marinated flavor that came through beautifully. We also shared the potatoes, which had a bright, citrusy kick, and the falafels, which were crispy on the outside and surprisingly moist inside (not dry at all!). The space itself is cozy and full of character, with lots of beautiful artwork on the walls that adds to the experience. I will definitely be coming back here."

"Compared to many of the other Mediterranean restaurants, the food wasn't the greatest but the service and the atmosphere was great! The food was little bland and the shrimp was too little and too much rice and the bread fell apart."

The 20 Best Restaurants In Long Beach

At 15 years old, Open Sesame founder Ali Kobeissi became entranced with herbs and spices while spending a summer working in a local spice factory in Lebanon. In 1999, he channeled this passion into the creation of Open Sesame, and the restaurant's Lebanese cuisine has been a local hit ever since. Kobeissi cites Phoenician, Greek, Arab, Roman, and Ottoman traditions as inspiration for the restaurant's ingredients and cooking techniques, which combine to create some innovative and vibrant Mediterranean fare.
