Opened by the co-owner of Hatchet Hall and the former executive chef at L&E Oyster, Little Coyote in Long Beach feels like a true throwback, the kind of casual pizza place that, as a kid, you begged your mom to stop at after picking up a video from Blockbuster. The pizza itself comes closest to New York-style, with massive slices you can fold in half, crispy thin crust that’s been buttered within an inch of its life, and classic toppings that range from pepperoni to sausage and mushrooms. That said, the white pizza - with spinach, ricotta, and mozzarella - is our favorite pie on the menu.

If you’ve ever come to Long Beach for a day trip, perhaps while taking your pup to the dog beach or perhaps to walk around 4th Street, the chances are pretty high that you’ve probably enjoyed a pie from Little Coyote. If not, you’ve definitely seen someone carrying one of their pizza boxes and have marveled at what might be the best pizzeria logo in the world. For this Cinco de Mayo, they are doing the Long Beach community thing that makes this beach community so damn cool and collaborating with La Taquería Brand to create a cilantro lovers dream of a birria pizza.

With their two Long Beach locations, Jonathan Strader and Jack Leahy summon the spirit of East Coast pizza parlors. Their standard round pies have wide, bubbled perimeters, with crusts that crunch and droop in ways that are ideal for folding slices as you eat them. Ingredient combinations lean zaniest with their frequent specials — as in a recent homage to loaded nachos — but the fundamental options succeed in their straightforwardness.

If you are craving a pizza that pays homage to the old-school New York pizzerias, you have come to the right place. The founders of Little Coyote wanted to make sure that that quality and good pizza is not compromised by affordability. To put the cherry on top of this Long Beach eatery, every crust is hand-stretched to the perfect thin and foldable consistency that every New Yorker knows and loves.

The go-to spot for pizza in Long Beach is even worth a long drive just for one of their pies. They’re NYC-style but the crust boasts more flavor than many other places, and the toppings are added generously. Little Coyote is our favorite place for pizza in Long Beach and amongst the best pizzerias in Los Angeles. They have two places in Long Beach, but we prefer the Eastside one for its cozy dining room and expansive outdoor patio area. Their culinary creations pay homage to the traditional New York-style pizza slice but offer a more intense crust flavor and a unique blend of toppings.

With hand-stretched, foldable thin crust like you’d find in New York, Little Coyote’s take-out pizzeria is making a big name for itself on Fourth Street’s Retro Row and beyond, having recently expanded to include a fresh location at 3500 Los Coyotes Diagonal. The White Pizza— with spinach, ricotta, garlic, mozzarella, Calabrian chili peppers and white sauce—is a customer favorite.

The joint quickly distinguished itself when it debuted last year, and it just opened a second location. Chef Jack Leahy went to culinary school in New York and spent the early part of the pandemic obsessing over pizza crust. The result is a dreamy pie that tastes so New York, you practically have to pay a ridiculous broker’s fee for the pleasure of consuming it.

Little Coyote in Long Beach has brought a true taste of New York-style pizza to the greater Los Angeles area. The concept comes from Jonathan Stradler and Chef Jack Leahy, both of whom have impressive resumes in the culinary and restaurant industries. The collaboration between the two friends has produced some truly great old-school New York-style pizzas.

Little Coyote is our go-to pizza spot in Long Beach, and one of the top pizzerias around LA. They've got two locations in Long Beach, but we prefer the one on the Eastside for its casual dining room and massive outdoor patio set-up. Their pies are an ode to the classic New York-style slice, but with a more flavorful crust and a variety of topping combos.

Head in and enjoy the friendly vibes and warm ambiance as you chow down on one of their many delectable pies. The signature dish here would have to be the “White” and the locals rave that it’s crispy, creamy, and has a healthy kick to it. Little Coyote also sells single slices which is an added convenience for when you just need a late-night snack.

There’s an ongoing debate between pizza fanatics about which pizza style is superior. We know one thing for sure, Little Coyote’s old-school New York style pizza is a winner in our books!. Little Coyote is situated in the heart of 4th Street Retro Row and is the perfect place to grab a bite between vintage shop hopping.

Some say this "hole in the wall" pizza joint is LA's best, and I will say that their white pizza was out of this world. Little Coyote is casual dining- perfect for a hungry family that wants to enjoy some good pizza. There are a few booths inside and some outdoor seating near the street.

Little Coyote is a street food establishment located on Retro Row in Long Beach, California. They specialize in New York style pizza, offering both whole pies and slices. In addition to their delicious pizza, they also serve subs and salads, with vegan and vegetarian options available.

A fan favorite on Retro Row, this pizza place does by the slice until 2 p.m. and ‘grandma squares’ all day. Open since 2018, Little Coyote says their New York-style pizza is “made the old school way,” and offers $5 slices of cheese, pepperoni and white pies.

It’s a clever riff on Long Beach’s Retro Row of which is a part of 4th Street, a street that houses many other pizza joints such as The 4th Horseman, Canadian Pizza, and Little Coyote, as well as newcomers Speak Cheezy and Kids on Coffee inside of Eddie’s.

This is one of the best places to eat in Long Beach if you love all things pizza. There are two Little Coyote locations in the city, and they’re both great. You’ll like this place even more if you love big New York-style slices.
