For restaurants, 1620, Brave New Restaurant, Flying Fish, and Red Door look exactly up my alley (focused on ingredients, not overpriced). Also, Whole Hog and Sonny Williams look like my boyfriend would love them (lots of meat...).

Abernathy has a good time with items like the Really Great Cheese Burger (double meat, double cheese, with options to add applewood bacon, chili or a fried egg), the Red Door Outrage (grilled Angus tenderloin medallions, applewood bacon topped with fries, jalapeno Jack cheese, fried egg, lettuce, tomato and homemade aioli) and other cleverly named items. Abernathy’s flare is also apparent with chicken fried prime rib in a small or large version. I recently sampled the small portion with a side of the signature mac ‘n’ cheese and was left stuffed.

Not only did I have the pleasure of eating my favorite Sunday Brunch of Eggs Benedict and mimosas at Red Door, a Little Rock institution, but I also had the privilege to do so with the award winning owner/chef Mark Abernathy himself, plus a side of cheese dip. I don’t think brunch can get much more special. One of the smartest and funniest people I’ve ever met, Chef Abernathy’s story telling could keep you entertained for hours.

Red Door is definitely one of the most popular places for brunch in Little Rock, especially if you ask the locals. From 9 am to 2 pm they serve everything from mimosas and Bloody Marys to sangria and champagne to start. If you’re an intrepid pancake connoisseur, you may want to go with the grilled pineapple, toasted pecans or caramelized bananas. And don’t be afraid to ask for a dollop of whipped cream because…yes.

Red Door is another Little Rock restaurant that creates southern dishes for visitors to enjoy. Get a bloody Mary while you’re at it.

This Midtown restaurant generally comes with a line on the weekends, so you can avoid it with a great weekday brunch. Start with a bacon-infused bloody mary before looking over the impressive menu. The croissant French toast is a hit, along with their multiple benedict options to satisfy any craving.

I recently had my first visit to Red Door for brunch and I can assure you it won't be my last!. I went there for a girls' day out and we were served by the most amazing waiter named Will. The food was unbelievable, making Red Door my new favorite spot.

Red Door – Standard drinks and champagne bottle specials continue nearby at Red Door. The skillets are great to share, and the benedicts come in a myriad of flavors – Classic, Lobster/Crabcake and Florentine. Don’t skimp on the Chicken and Waffles.

Like its Streamsong siblings, the Blue and Black courses, the Red is built for bouncy, rollicking play. There’s some leeway off the tee. But attacking from the proper angle is essential.

That said, Red Door is one of the best places to go—the Blue Mesa Cheese Dip consists of a whopping four types of cheese (be sure to add the smoked tomato hot salsa).
