Faded Rose – The Rose has a decent sized kids menu with around 10 items, plus many of the items from the larger menu can be customized for kids. You will find the standard grilled cheese, chicken strips, and kids burger, but they also have some items to push the envelop a bit more with a picky kid like catfish nuggets, popcorn shrimp, and sauteed shrimp. Plus the wedge fries are the best in town.

While The Faded Rose is well-known for its Creole and Cajun cuisines, many folks will tell you that the steak is one of the most underrated menu items. Make sure to order the ribeye and request it blackened. The steak is as rich and flavorful as can be, just swimming in juices and butter, making it absolutely perfect to eat with a baked potato or a side of fries.

My Take: Burge’s and The Faded Rose both serve up outstanding fried catfish, the latter of which is super thin and crispy. I’ve been to Lazy Pete’s a few times, but have never tried the catfish a few times. Very underrated restaurant that doesn’t get a lot of attention, but apparently serves up some mean catfish.

He’s one of the friendliest people in the industry and has an uncanny ability to make you feel good, as does the Abita and shrimp and grits.

From burgers to seafood and comfort food, The Faded Rose is a family-run restaurant that has a variety of options for all types of eaters. They’re best known for their steak dinners and New Orleans Creole and Cajun dishes.

Gumbo at The Faded Rose – If there’s one thing The Faded Rose does well, it’s represent Louisiana cuisine without ever going overboard. There’s heat, but it’s never overwhelming. This gumbo is a great example.

The Faded Rose was my favorite when living in LR and I sometimes will stop in for dinner if I am travelling through. The Buffalo Grill is nice for lunch as is the Purple Cow.

I'm guessing Brave New Restaurant probably gets the highest ratings on Trip Advisor and Yelp but all three I listed are good.
