Reviews Summary

Faded Rose is celebrated for its authentic Cajun and Creole flavors, with standout dishes like Shrimp Tchoupitoulas and Blackened Redfish receiving high praise. Diners also appreciate the attentive service and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food preparation, particularly with steak overcooking and the thinness of catfish fillets, leading to some disappointment.

"What a lovely restaurant. I dined alone on Sunday. I had Parker as my service attendant. He paid attention to every detail. Before my meal, he delivered some fresh bread with butter. For my meal …I ordered Shrimp Tchoupitoulas as an appetizer. It was cooked to perfection. Oh so yummy! For my main course, I had Grilled redfish meunière with 2 sides: a cup of gumbo and crawfish rice. Again, everything was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed a glass of the Italian Bottega Viniai Pinot Grigio. It was nicely chilled and hit the spot. I finished the meal with a delicious espresso martini. It was quite a wonderful experience, and I look forward to returning with friends at a future date."

Donna Minter

"This is a nice little place and the people seem friendly, I got my order extremely quick. My review is based on the food only. I got the catfish which they call thin fish. I ordered it to go and I was shocked when I looked at it. When they say thin they mean super thin! It looks like they didn't really cut it more like they pounded it out thin because the actual fillets are extremely wide. It is so thin that it's almost the size of a chip! Fish and the fries were both very limp and soft, Exactly what you don't want with fried fish and french fries. It was a little bit spicy but I did put lemon and salt on it to cut that down a little bit and was able to eat it. For $20 I was not satisfied at all. The gentleman working the bar told me this is a dish that everyone loves but that's very hard for me to understand because everyone I know Enjoys catfish crispy not soft and mushy.."

Grant Snodgrass

"Very quaint restaurant with a welcoming staff. I ordered the Red Fish Ponchatrain which was a nice size and also loaded with plenty of crab as toppings. I also ordered cabbage as a side which had a nice spicy kick without being too hot. The creole vegetable soup was hit. Check this place out if you are in the area. I went on a Friday around 5 PM. It fills up fast so get there early for dinner."

Your Favorite Fried Catfish in Little Rock

My Take: Burge’s and The Faded Rose both serve up outstanding fried catfish, the latter of which is super thin and crispy. I’ve been to Lazy Pete’s a few times, but have never tried the catfish a few times. Very underrated restaurant that doesn’t get a lot of attention, but apparently serves up some mean catfish.
