Located along the Kāʻanapali Boardwalk, this breezy, open-air beach bar celebrates all that’s authentically Hawaiian. The menu is full of freshly caught Hawaii fish, chicken and pork from local ranchers, and produce grown on more than 40 family-owned Maui farms, while the drink list features regional beers and even Lokelani sparkling rosé, made on the slopes of Haleakala at Maui’s only winery. If you’re more of a cocktail person, Leilani’s has those, too, including a mai tai made with freshly squeezed juice and a Paloma with house-made hibiscus syrup.

Airy and sprawling, Leilani's is part indoor restaurant, part casual beachside grill, and part bar. If you've come here to drink, beeline straight for the lanai, where you can order cocktails in a breezy, open-air, beach bar–type space with live ukulele music and sweeping views over Kaanapali Beach. Light tropical cocktails like the Mai Tai and the Hibiscus Paloma (tequila, hibiscus syrup, white grapefruit, and lime juice) dominate the drinks menu.

Just as I had done on a previous trip to Maui, on our first full day on the island we walked the 15 minutes from the Hyatt Regency Maui up the beach towards Black Rock and ate at Leilani's on the Beach. This is a casual restaurant where you can sit on the patio and watch for whales off in the distance...and we saw several!. They are known for their fish tacos, which we again enjoyed, though I think the poke bowl is my favorite item.

We always are sure to pop by Leilani’s on the Beach for a delicious meal and a slice of the world famous Hula Pie!. We adore spending time in Old Lahania Town and appreciate that its just a quick ride down the road from the resort. Another worthwhile nearby family favorite drive we recommend is to grab breakfast one morning at Slappy Cakes just up the road where families can cook their own pancake creations right at the table.

Their downstairs Beachside Grill is another great place for lunch or a light dinner. They also feature live Hawaiian entertainment in the late afternoons.

Post-swim, amble straight from the shore to Leilani’s on the Beach, a lovely, open-air restaurant that has a breezy ambience, a sand-bottomed floor, and up-close views of the luminous water. Go for an ultra-refreshing ahi poke bowl with kukui nut and local ogo, or talk your sweetheart into sharing a plate of Niihau lamb sliders (complete with beer mustard aioli and tomato-ginger jam).

Hungry visitors can relax in three oceanfront restaurants, Hula Grill, Leilani’s On the Beach, and Cane & Taro, with menus varying from Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine with fresh island ingredients to all-American hamburgers and beach-perfect fries. Looking for something easy and fast?. Munch a juicy sandwich, a slice of Italian pizza, or some Chinese food in the international Food Court.

We ate in the dining room upstairs, which is fancier (although as with anywhere in Hawaii, you can dress in just about anything), and it had a different menu from the Beachside Grill, which is downstairs. I had the herb roasted mahi-mahi with roasted carrots and poached baby potatoes, and toasted macadamia nut. I ate sooo much fresh fish while I was in Maui, and I loved it.

Leilanis on the Beach - Leilanis on the beach is exactly what the name says, with views of Kaanaplai Beach down to Black Rock this spot is great for sunset or whale watching in the winter, especially from its top deck. With their island style menu, you can get a real taste of Hawaii & soak in an amazing view. My personal favorites are the Seafood Hot pot & Jumbo Crab Cakes!

If you’re looking for the ultimate beachside dining experience, Leilani’s on Kaanapali Beach is calling your name. The menu is packed with fresh seafood, sizzling steaks, and Hawaiian-inspired dishes, served against a peaceful ocean backdrop. Relax under the warm Hawaiian sun, sip on a mai tai, and enjoy the ocean breeze as you feast on their signature coconut shrimp.

They have an outdoor beach seating area with more casual food options, and an indoor dining area that is a little more formal. Both spots have very knowledgable staff and their policy is to immediately communicate with both the chef and the manager. I’ve eaten here several times and every time I order they use the language “celiac safe” instead of just gluten free.

Located on Kaanapali Beach in Whalers Village, Leilani’s on the Beach is a great place to watch the sun set over the water and enjoy the fabulous ocean views. Look for the offshore islands of Lanai and Molokai!. Belonging to the same family of restaurants as Duke’s and the Hula Grill, Leilani’s has a beach bar and a regular dining room that’s only open for dinner.

Ryan and I used to go on this snorkeling trip often and we’d head to Leilani’s bar afterward for Aloha (happy) hour specials like ceviche and pulled pork sliders.

From among these talented chefs, the Grand Taste judges must choose one dish which will earn the “Best Overall,” and one who will capture the Tylun Pang “Fan Favorite” award. Created three years ago in honor of late Maui Chef Tylun Pang, the award is decided by the public, with ticket holders trying all 10 dishes and voting for their favorite.

Leilani’s On the Beach is a place for celebration, where local foods are served alongside the aloha spirit. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike, thanks to a carefully chosen menu and a welcoming attitude. The fish tacos are straight off the hook, rubbed with Cajun spices, and served with an incredible roasted tomato aioli.

It's truly a family down at this restaurant where you're likely to get a server that's worked there for years. Don't be afraid to ask them all about the menu as you enjoy the open-air digs as the sun sets at this Ka'anapali Beach restaurant. You'll be able to indulge in opah with pistachio crust, Maui onion sirloin, and fresh sashimi.

At Whalers Village you have Leilanis and Hula Grill (same owner as Kimos) which are both a lot of fun. Monkeypod Kitchen has a good bar and Mai Tai but we don't think much of the food. The Kaanapali Beach Hotel opened up a new restaurant a couple years ago called Huihui which is very good for both lunch and dinner and has ocean views.

It has the perfect vantage point for viewing sunsets on the beach that are framed by the islands of Lanai and Molokai. Finally, one of our favorite local spot was Leilani’s on the Beach. During the day, this is more of a beachside grill, but they had many gluten free options and understood celiac. They even had a separate fryer for gluten free fries – which is why we kept coming back!

Mama’s is a local landmark and synonymous with fine dining in Maui. Foodies flock to Mama’s Fish House for the freshest, ocean-to-plate dishes and Polynesian décor. The fish is so fresh that the menu shows the name of the fisherman who caught it!

Your West Maui snorkel experience will begin from Ka’anapali Beach in front of Whaler’s Village near Leilani’s. Then, you will set off in search of West Maui’s best snorkel site, and while doing so, you will be offered meals prepared by Cafe Jai.

I recently visited Leilani’s on the Beach and was blown away by the incredible seafood. Located right on Kaanapali Beach, this restaurant offers amazing ocean views that make dining here extra special.
