"This place was very close to our first hotel in kona and we wanted to grab something local but our 7 yo is in a non-adventureous phase. Enter 808 Grindz. #1 they open at 7am which was awesome for us early risers. #2 you could get spam moco but also just eggs and pancakes (for the kiddo) and everyone was happy #3 super nice workers. We ended up back there 3 more times in one week. Thanks again for the hospitality!!"

808 Grindz Cafe in Kona is a must-visit! Everything we had was amazing. The short ribs, 6oz steak, and bacon were all packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I ordered the "Breakfast of Champions"—a huge plate of food—and every bite was worth it. They even let me sub the eggs for short ribs for just \$2.50!
I got 8 pieces of bacon (yes, 8!) and they were crispy and cooked to perfection. The hash browns were solid too, but the steak and short ribs were the absolute standouts.
We even got a waffle in that combo, and the mac sauce took it to the next level—sweet, creamy, and tied the whole thing together beautifully. Great portions, great service, and a relaxed local vibe. Can’t wait to come back!"

"Food: the sauce, egg and protein are very well done; flavor balanced and delicious. To me, the rice is still too much, but with the price and value ratio, it’s not too bad, and the savory flavor can make you finish most of it somehow.
Service: they’re very busy and people flooded in during lunch time, so we ended up sitting outside. The staff were able to locate us and brought the food, which is very nice and helpful.
Ambiance: super casual. Family, couples and friends are all suitable for a quick bite."
