Reviews Summary

Restaurant Orsay is celebrated for its exceptional service and upscale French-inspired cuisine with a Southern twist, making it a go-to for special occasions. Diners rave about dishes like oysters, bouillabaisse, and the dessert menu. However, some guests find the prices high and occasionally experience inconsistencies in food preparation or value.

"Out of all the fine dining establishments we’ve dined at, Orsay is our favorite! We’ve only dined twice here as we are from out of town. The first time was on my 27th birthday and the most recent time being on my 29th birthday. We have had Tony, our server, both times and he is kind, professional, and a top notch server. This is coming from someone who has been in the restaurant industry for nearly a decade. The food is incredible. We haven’t had a dish we haven’t enjoyed. Tony is also extremely knowledgeable and can explain anything on the menu, especially if you’ve never heard of it before. Great place to try something new! If I could give 10 stars I would. If you’re looking for a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and the best service, then this is a restaurant you have to try!"

Shea Davenport

"Finally had a chance to try Orsay this past Friday. Great atmosphere and great service. The food was hit and miss. Enjoyed escargot, oysters, bouillabaisse and bread pudding special. The puff pastry n sauce with escargot was amazing. The "oyster Rockefeller " was good but oysters were room temperature when received vs hot. They were good but I would have enjoyed more if served hot. Not sure what happened with bouillabaisse. It was not good at all, to me. It was too thick more like a spaghetti sauce and the flavor was not impressive and actually disappointing. I did not care for the blueberry lemon bread pudding , at all. Life is about experiences. Happy I finally had a chance to try them out. Unsure if I will visit again."

Johnette Hickson

"Had a lovely dinner here with family while in town visiting. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm and cozy with lots of soft lighting and comfortable seating. The service was top notch - very friendly and efficient without hovering. I never had to ask for anything it just appeared when needed. Come prepared to make decisions bc the food and drink options are incredible and it will be hard to choose. Everything by we had was delicious. Special shout out for the smoked trout dip appetizer, trout entree and pavlova for dessert. You can’t go wrong with anything. Overall a wonderful experience. I look forward to going back."

Rustic, dimly-lit and intimate, Orsay is an ideal place to dig into decidedly high-brow takes on French-inspired comfort food. Bouillabaisse brimming with fresh seafood and lobster pot pie are just two of the menu highlights from executive chef Brian Whittington, who was recently nominated for a James Beard Award. In addition to taking the top spot for Special Occasion Restaurant, Orsay also got readers’ attentions for its brunch service, which features lobster deviled eggs, bourbon French toast and duck confit hash.
