Reviews Summary

Palms Fish Camp Restaurant is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, waterfront views, and extensive seafood offerings. Diners rave about the fresh oysters, fish dip, and unique dishes like alligator bites. While many praise the friendly service and lively vibe with live music, some reviewers mention inconsistencies in food quality and pricing.

"A real locals spot with great vibes and views. Delicious oysters and the best fish dip I have ever had. The pork grind combination goes perfectly with the smoky dip. Good music as well to help wash down the food. But wait, that's what they have the drinks for! Those are very good as well. Will be back for sure on our next drive near the area."

"First off the manager was very friendly and helpful and got us an excellent waitress. Marissa never let my Diet Coke run out for more than literally a minute. I had the Palms gumbo and we shared the fried green tomatoes. Perfect. However if I wasn’t starving I would have had a cup of the gumbo instead of a bowl as by the end of the meal I was more than full. It was perfect and steaming hot as that’s the way I like my food. She who must be obeyed had the fish tacos and she loved them. I had a two item platter and it was great. An excellent portion although I would probably have preferred Basa instead of Flounder. But it was just an excellent experience all round. A bit pricey but still worth the price for all we had and the attention we received. The manager was a young man with a beard and pony tail and I am sorry I didn’t ask his name but he made us comfortable from the get go. We’ll be back for sure and I’m sure you have to get there early to get a seat. But I think the food and the service will be fine."

"It's a great location. The deck is beautiful and could be a really fun place for dinner. There was live music the evening we were there, unfortunately with far more volume than talent. Service was very friendly and helpful, but clearly overwhelmed. The menu is quite broad and includes the usual dishes and some more original recipes. We had oysters (steamed) and fried pickles for appetizers. Both were excellent. The oysters were cooked more than I prefer, but really tasty oysters. We had fried oysters and shrimp for dinner. The shrimp and oysters were excellent and cooked perfectly, but the breading could use more seasoning. All the side dishes were a bit disappointing. Nothing was bad, but none were really good. It was really disappointing to find that they didn't have local beers on tap, despite the information on the website. Dinner was fine but not great. A bit overpriced for what it was."
