What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
King Dough is highly acclaimed for its unique and delicious wood-fired pizzas, particularly its naturally leavened crust and creative topping combinations. Many diners praise the fresh ingredients and the inviting atmosphere, especially the outdoor patio. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in pizza preparation, such as burnt crusts or floppy middles, and occasional issues with service or value.
"King Dough was amazing. The only suggestion I have is to offer dessert!
That being said, the service was fantastic and the food was as delicious as it was creative.
We ordered the sticky mozzarella sticks as a starter. They are drizzled with hot honey and it really dials them up to 11. We enjoyed a Greco salad with our pizza and the ingredients were all fresh and crisp.
The pizza was a Grape and Gorgonzola. It was exactly what it sounds like. I liken it to taking the best offerings of a fruit and cheese charcuterie board and putting it on a pizza crust with arugula. Perfection. No notes.
Will be coming back again!"

"Came in from out of town looking for some wood fired pizza. Atmosphere was good over all. Only complaints were tables were a tad cramped, sun was blinding through the windows (I’d recommend tint).
Service was superb. Our server was Jake. He did very well. Host was cheerful, an even stopped by to ask how things were.
Food was very good. Nice char on outside of crust. I wish I had cooked a tad longer though because my middle still was very floppy. The most negative on food was the cheese sticks. They had sugar on them. Very weird. A cup of Nacho cheese is $2 bucks!! I do wish they had regular black olives. Overall though, extremely good pizza.
An added plus is they had GF option for the wife. Best she’s ever had."

"This was literally the best pizza I’ve ever had! The dough was thin, crusty, and foldable, the sauce wasn’t too sweet, and the ambiance was superb. The pizza was so good I forgot to take a picture until after I had already eaten a slice. I will definitely be going back again!"

Owners Adam and Alicia Sweet debuted their wood-fired pizzeria in 2018 with the help of Indianapolis developers Tom and Edward Battista, focusing on a naturally leavened crust that emerges from the oven chewy and flavored with a tinge of sourdough and wood smoke. Toppings are thoughtful combinations like the ricotta, basil, caramelized onions, and black pepper that come together on the mellow R&B, and the surprisingly well-matched headliners of the Grape & Gorgonzola.
