What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fire by the Monon is lauded for its imaginative pub grub, particularly the pulled pork nachos and "Dirty Mac & Cheese," all served in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Reviewers praise the generous portions and the unique concept of a house turned restaurant. While the food is a consistent hit, some guests have noted the casual dress code of some staff and the potential for parking challenges during peak hours.
"This was my first visit. I chose the Berry Fresh salad, and it was fabulous! My friends ordered the Hoosier Breaded Pork Tenderloin and the Free Range Flatbread. We had great service and a nice table back in a quiet corner. I'll be back!"
Cindy Baxter
"I came here for the fried green tomatoes, and they did not disappoint!!! All of the food was amazing, their signature sauce was so good. The fried green tomatoes were over the top soooo good. I cannot stop raving about them.
The service was alright. Everyone was very friendly & nice. But we didn’t get refills & weren’t checked on the whole time until she brought us our check.
There is only a few parking spots in front of the building, so be prepared to park on the side street and have to walk.
But the food definitely makes up for it, will for sure be back!"
Amber Lynn
"Reasonably priced and delicious! The two things we all want in a good meal out! Our waitress was slammed but still made points of stopping and asking if everything was going well and what we thought of the food. My husband had an Elderberry Sour drink that wasn't overwhelming alcohol. Then, I had the Dirty Mac & Cheese which was pulled pork with cavatappi noodles and creamy cheese sauce. My husband had fish and chips with a red cabbage slaw. We will definitely return as it was a wonderful dinning experience!"
