What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Marmo offers a lively, upscale Italian chophouse experience with a vibrant atmosphere, excellent food, and attentive service. Diners rave about the homemade pastas, steaks, and the ambiance enhanced by live music. However, some reviews mention dishes being too salty, and a few have experienced service inconsistencies.
"We had made reservations here for my best friends surprise dinner and they did not disappoint! The staff were wonderful and super helpful with everything. I got the bolognese and it was pretty good! We also gave the flan a try, although I wasn’t a big fan with the orange pieces on top, I loved everything else about it! The atmosphere was super elegant, dim lit, and classy. Our waiter was super nice and helpful with any questions we had! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good date spot! :)"

"We had a great experience at Marmo. Let’s talk about the food first: we ordered pasta, a Caesar salad and broccolini for some fiber. Flavors were excellent and fresh, you could taste layers of carefully crafted ingredients. Why didn’t I give it 5 stars? Because as other reviewers have said, some dishes were heavy on the salt. Not terrible at all but not for everyone. Tiramisu was perfect for us, slightly sweet and very creamy. Coffee was an excellent end to the meal. Another suggestion is to add some non alcoholic beers or drinks to their menu.
They had lovely live music, these people were talented and added to the atmosphere.
Service was fantastic overall.
If you’re looking for Italian in Houston, give Marmo a try."

"Marmo is definitely one of those spots that feels upscale without trying too hard. It’s located in an extremely nice shopping center, and the aesthetics inside match the vibe—clean, modern, and elegant.
They’ve got a daily happy hour from 3 to 6PM, which is a great deal if you can catch it. Valet is free, just make sure to validate your valet ticket inside the restaurant.
One thing to note: happy hour is first come, first serve and only available in the bar area or on the patio—not the main dining room. You cannot make reservations for happy hour. That setup was a little unexpected, so definitely get there early if you’re aiming for those deals.
The happy hour menu is solid—pastas start at $5, with meat options around $7, and glasses of wine are $6. Honestly, it’s a steal for the quality and location.
Servers were super friendly and attentive, which really made the experience feel elevated. The hostess was just okay—not rude, but not especially welcoming either.
Perfect place for a cute catch-up, date night on a budget, or just a solo unwind moment with a glass of wine."

High-end Italian chophouse Marmo debuted in Montrose Collective, Houston’s newest mixed-use development hub, back in April, and it’s already making waves through a robust menu heavy on steaks, pasta, and seafood dishes—the essentials, in other words. Marmo is Italian for “marble,” a name that speaks not just to the restaurant’s deliciously marbled steaks but also to a stunning interior (designed by Patrick Sutton) that is heavy, of course, on marble while also featuring soft touches that help give the space a light and airy vibe.
