Customers praise the excellent service and welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot in Houston. While most find the offerings exceptional, some mention that prices can be high and a few specific drinks or pastries might not meet everyone's expectations.
"It’s a James Beard award winner for a reason.
The selection of pastries is wide ranging from savory to sweet with Very interesting combinations.
The location was kind of off when you’re driving through but once you’re there it’s pretty good and secluded. They do have back patio seating which was a good touch.
The pastries were amazing, the pistachio baklava was a great dessert I just loved the creation.
Overall I would definitely recommend anyone to give this place a try you will not be disappointed.
Service was excellent."

"Great location to spend time with friends and family and enjoy some summer rays 🥵 They offer indoor and outdoor seating, so there’s ample options. When I visited I tried the tiger uppercut (Thai tea + espresso) and the Chinese sausage taco. I wasn’t super impressed with the uppercut, as it was sweet but watered down. Playing around with the ratio and strength of both the tea and espresso might help. As for the taco, I can’t say enough about it! It was the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. I’ll definitely get that again next time, and experiment more with different coffee options."

"Adorable cafe with good vibes and excellent pastries. Ranked from most favorite to less favorite but still good:
Chicken laap danish - would eat once a week
Cambodian elote cornbread- nice seasoning
Mango sticky rice danish
Pistachio baklava croissant
We also had a latte and a salty Cambodian, love a salty coffee. I would go back here anytime I’m visiting Houston. So good. East to find parking in the neighborhood. Was very tempted to get the calamansi tart but no belly space was left."

No trip to Houston is complete without stopping at Koffeteria, a Cambodian-influenced bakery in East Downtown. Standards like chocolate croissants are excellent, but you’re going to want to concentrate on the more unique options like the two-year aged salted lime tart, guava cream cheese danish, or a beef brisket pho-stuffed kolache. Brunch is also worth whatever line has formed around the pastry case, with a menu featuring breakfast sandwiches stuffed with egg and Cambodian sausage, croissants with Thai fish-sauce drenched omelets, and Chinese sausage tacos.

This EaDo hang from former Tiny Boxwoods pastry chef Vanarin Kuch is more of a hip cafe with fun coffee drinks and wild pastries like his famous Hot Cheeto croissant. Still, he loves showcasing unique riffs on the traditional Texas breakfast treat, his most popular being a beef pho kolache where the salty, juicy shredded beef explodes out with your first bite. For a childhood throwback, Kuch also makes a kolache filled with tomato and basil puree and melted American cheese … grilled cheese and tomato soup, anyone?
Where to find the best croissant in Houston
Another spot I made a point to revisit was Koffeteria, a bakery in East Downtown. I absolutely love pastry chef Vanarin Kuch's whimsical creations and have long been a fan and supporter of his baked goods, but I must admit I was somewhat disappointed in the bakery's plain croissant. It certainly had good layers and some flake, and the salted egg wash is a great touch, but there was simply not enough butter to keep the croissant from being a little too dry, and the flesh tasted yeasty.
