What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kiran's is celebrated for its exceptional service and inventive Indian fusion cuisine, with many diners highlighting the attentive staff and unique flavor combinations. While the traditional Indian dishes and afternoon tea receive high praise, some guests found certain appetizers to be less impressive. The ambiance is generally well-regarded, though a few reviews note it feels slightly dated.
"We had the best afternoon tea at Kiran’s! It was simply amazing! Everything was top notch from the initial reply to request a reservation, asking if there are any food allergies or restrictions, greeting upon arrival, the ambiance, beautifully prepared food presentation, tea service and leaving the restaurant. Would highly recommend over 100%!!!"

"4.5 because their traditional Indian dishes are 5/5 but their apps are 3.5. And their service is EXCEPTIONAL - ask for Tara. We love her. She is so so attentive - wrote down our allergies, confirmed with the chef multiple times. She is just amazing.
We got the mushroom and feta samosas which were amazing. But the chili paneer was underwhelming and the raj katori was just not my favorite taste.
For mains, everything we got was amazinggg. Paneer makhani, bhindhi masala, daal makhani. So flavorful and just really good.
Would 100% recommend!!

"Given the price point of this restaurant, I'm going to be extra picky in my review. Quick summary: The food was okay to good. Excellent service. Lackadaisical valet. Ambience felt tad outdated. About the food, there are other restaurants in Houston who deliver more memorable flavors. Would I call it "modern" like the restaurant advertises? Not quite. The dishes themselves were more traditional in their concept and presentation than "modern". (Musaafer comes to mind for truly modern takes on classic dishes.) The Tandoori Sizzler was very good. Butter Chicken and Tandoori Salmon were decent. But again, I've had better. The drinks were pretty standard. Perhaps the biggest need-for-attention was the interior. It felt quite outdated; more like a 90's to early 2000's 5-star restaurant in Delhi. Perhaps that hit of nostalgia might work better for some but there is an opportunity to modernize. The service was excellent, however. Our server was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. We appreciated the attention to detail and care. On the other hand, the valet service felt like a scam. I expected much better valet service that's associated with a fine dining restaurant. Apparently there was "no valet available" when we used the portal to request our car back. Outside, the guy just handed me the keys and pointed down the street. And valet service was a separate, additional payment. These little things add up when your expectations are set high. A restaurant owned by a talented chef from Delhi sounds promising. It was a decent outing, but just fell short of expectations. If you like Indian food and trying new upscale restaurants, maybe give it a shot. Reservations are highly recommended and some sections seem adult-only (check when booking)."
