What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Steinhaus Keller is praised for its authentic German cuisine, particularly the giant pretzel and schnitzel, and its cozy, old-world atmosphere with occasional live music. However, some diners find the prices high for the portion sizes and service quality, with a few noting issues with food authenticity and hidden charges.
"Highly recommend Steinhaus Keller! We had a lovely experience! Jay, our waiter took great care of us and gave wonderful recommendations. We had the pretzel for an appetizer, soup flight (couldn't pick a favorite, but maybe the goulash soup- all were good). Entree- pork weiner schnitzel , with potato cakes and Brussel sprouts. We left full and very pleased."

"My husband and I were in town for vacation, on Memorial Weekend. This place was extremely friendly, and the menu options were impressive. We were eager to try German foods and this place delivered. A giant pretzel, and the sour kraut cakes were an amazing meal followed by an incredible German Chocolate Cake. The vibe of the place was a classy bar with a touch of grandma's living room. The outdoor seating area was also very classy and romantic. We would definitely make the trip back just for this restaurant."

"A quaint German restaurant tucked unassumingly in a hidden basement area of downtown Hot Springs. This is Gemma a restaurant has been around in multiple iterations and undergone a transfer of ownership recently, but has not affected the quality of food. If anything it has improved. I have been going here for almost 20 years as we have visited Hot Springs in the past highly recommend going here and getting a great German meal. The food is authentic, and quite tasty. Try the meatloaf the meatloaf is the sleeper on the menu."
