Reviews Summary

Moku Kitchen is praised for its trendy atmosphere, energetic vibe, and standout cocktails like the Monkeypod Mai Tai. Diners rave about happy hour deals and specific dishes such as fish tacos and truffle fries. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality and service, with a few experiencing issues with hygiene and portion sizes.

"Happy Hour is 2pm - 5pm, and you’ll not want to pass up on the 50% off, and their Mai Tais are the bomb!

Grace was our server today and aside from friendly conversation, she offered great suggestions which were all on point!

They validate your parking, so come out and enjoy their food, service, and vibes!"

Reggie Escalante

"A group of us went for dinner and got seated outside which was perfect. The inside is def higher energy and noisy.

I really wanted to give their food a higher mark but I found that, while good, generally missed the mark in small ways: steak came medium instead of med rare. The tuna taco had perfectly done fish but instead of salsa they added some plain chopped tomato and onion (?!). It's a great spot with decent food but with a little extra effort it could be great food"

Peter Powell

"10/10 happy hour experience (2-5pm) and I don’t say this lightly. Mai tais were to die for and the shareable food was great. Plenty of parking and tables, not excessively noisy. If in doubt definitely give it a chance 💪🏼"

Best Pizza in Honolulu & Oahu: Where to Find Good Slices on the Island

2016 | Kaka'ako Live music and gourmet pizzas made with local ingredientsLike all of Peter Merriman’s restaurants, most everything on the menu is made from scratch with ingredients that are locally sourced -- down to the ketchup. Pizzas aren’t the sole star at his sprawling, industrial-influenced Kaka’ako eatery (hello, Hawaii beef burgers and 29-degree craft beers on tap), but the small-but-mighty roster of pies often steals the show. The pizza dough is aged for three days, hand tossed, and baked at 700 degrees.

We’re looking at 53 by the sea, pig and the lady, and moku kitchen so far. Senia was on the list but they are closed for renovations during our stay- I did see that they are doing a special 5 course menu with Podmore but there is a note that they can’t accommodate dietary restrictions with the fixed menu (totally understandable). My husband is a very adventurous eater so we will definitely try a variety of places.

10 Top Restaurants + Where to Stay – The Perfect Spot

Peter Merriman’s Moku Kitchen was the one “ok” stop this return, but otherwise, I ate better than I ever have in Honolulu this spring. May Hawaii’s traditional foods — like gas station musubi, saimin shops, plate lunches and vibrant produce — never die. But it’s also a delight to see Honolulu showcase Hawaiian cuisine from modern, creative angles, partnering it with other cuisines, expanding its possibility.

Named after the Hawaiian word for “island,” Moku Kitchen is a self-driven concept that echoes a simpler time when food was locally sourced and cooked over an open fire on a ranch. This restaurant brings Hawaii’s rich farming and ranching heritage to urban Honolulu. Moku Kitchen is one of the few places that has as much good food as they do beer. I’ll go for the local beers first, either Pineapple Mana Wheat from Maui Brewing Co. or the Waimanalo Farmhouse Ale from Aloha Beer Company. Their kale salad seems as if it was massaged because it’s so tender and their house dressing makes it difficult to put down your fork.
