Reviews Summary
Leonard's Bakery is a beloved Honolulu institution, celebrated for its exceptional malasadas that are consistently praised for being hot, fresh, and delicious. While lines can be long, the taste and texture of these Portuguese donuts make them a worthwhile experience for locals and tourists alike. Many rave about the various flavors and fillings, highlighting the custard and cinnamon sugar as particular favorites.
"On our friends’ recommendation, we came here to try the malasadas. We arrived about 10 minutes before closing, but we were still able to buy everything we wanted. My favorite was the original flavor — just sprinkled with sugar — though for me it was a bit too sweet. Still, the dough and the baking itself were quite tasty. The chocolate one was also fine. But the coconut one, and the third flavor we tried (I don’t even remember which), really weren’t to my taste at all. Overall, though, it was interesting to try — it’s a popular and well-known spot. That’s why I’d recommend giving it a try. For me and all my friends, the most original flavor remained the favorite🥰😍"

"Went around 4pm and waited 15-20 minutes. We got one of each flavor. TBH I only liked the cinnamon and custard ones.
The other flavors just tasted very very light. They came out warm which was nice but they do not taste good when they’re not warm."

"came by leonard’s bakery for some donuts and they are the best donuts we have ever had . great selection, very flavorful and soft freshly baked you get them warm and very soft .. they are filled generously .. these malasadas are so good i could eat them everyday if i could .. there was a little line outside , you order and they call your number when your order is ready to the window outside . it didn’t take very long maybe waited 5-10 minutes but it was well worth the wait and every penny spent .. if you visit hawai’i be sure to make time one morning to get donuts from here they set the standard high for donuts"
