What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fete is celebrated for its innovative New American cuisine with global influences and its chic, urban atmosphere. Diners rave about the flavorful dishes, particularly the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, and praise the attentive and knowledgeable service. Some guests note that certain dishes can be overly salty or expensive for the taste, and the location in Chinatown might not appeal to everyone, but overall, it's considered a standout dining experience.
"I spotted this place awhile back when we couldn't do a walk-in and ended up down the street at O'Kims. So glad I was able to make a reservation for an early lunch today (weekday). True to many reviews --- this restaurant could be mistaken for a dining establishment in NYC or SF. The brick walls, living plant board, well-stocked bar and French bistro furniture style sent a cool city vibe. The food did not disappoint either. The Hawaiian greens in the fete salad were fresh and varied (bitter, herby, crisp) and I personally love watermelon radish a lot. Okay, but the stellar thing is that the crispy chicken that one could add to the salad was amazing. (thick, juicy, crunchy outer batter) Wow! The kanpachi special was delicious too. I always like the Mediterranean influence on roasted fish -- fresh tapenade but never have I experienced the roasted eggplant sauce and maybe twice-cooked potatoes (felt like boiled, battered then fried) which were scrumptious. Chris, our waiter was patient, friendly and knowlegeable. He recommended to us his fave dessert combo so we followed his lead with the olive oil cake with passionfruit/calamansi drizzle and poi ice cream. Mahalo to everyone at the restaurant for making this a memorable dining experience. You rock!"

"The ice cream was...salty?
The Good: service! Our server Kevin was incredible. The Ulu Aloo app was to die for, although we felt if it was served with steak it would've been the perfect main. We also enjoyed the Basil Caesar Salad with Crispy Chicken.
The Mediocre: Housemade Cavatappi in a kale and mushroom sauce was more like gummy pasta in a saltwater gravy with a hint of lemon? Odd to us that there wasn't even mushroom flavor from the mushrooms themselves.
The Bad: For dessert we ordered 1 scoop of Mango Goodie and 1 scoop of Cafe du Monde ice cream. We were told that the Mango Goodie was made with fresh mangos, condensed milk, and a secret ingredient. After tasting it, we realized the secret ingredient must be soy sauce? Maybe flaked sea salt? Nope...the answer: Sprite. When we tried the Cafe du Monde...it was also salty, especially the espresso cookies! Not sure what's going on in the bakery...but this experience solidified our perception of this restaurant. There are many more great restaurants in the area. Go to Fete for the great cocktails and impeccable service. Go elsewhere for an amazing meal."

"For the price range they really make you happy. The wines were delicious. The soda of the day was not too sweet and amazing. The tartare was amazing. Zucchini risotto did not disappoint."
