The overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, celebrating its nostalgic charm and consistent quality.

"Love this bakery! It has started each day of our visit with great espresso & coffee cake! Great place to checkout our messages & plan our day! The outdoor tables are a delight"

"Kilani Bakery is a local staple for my family. I've been coming here since I was a kid and not much has changed. Somewhat consider that a bad thing, but I consider that a good thing from the angle of timelessness. I stopped in today to pick up a few of their brownies to give to some out-of-town guests. I picked up an extra set for myself, which was quickly devoured lol. The one thing that I'll say is I dearly miss their lemon, meringue pie, which they rarely offer nowadays. I heard that it's because of the rising cost of the raw ingredients, which I totally understand. But I also wouldn't mind the option for being able to pre-order, with a set minimum, so we know that their costs are covered and that they don't have to worry about inventory/spoilage. If anyone from the team is reading this, feel free to reach out because I would definitely love to order dozens of your pies lol."

Zakary Kim

"Not sure if it’s because I haven’t eaten brownies in forever but the way these flipping things have a hold on me is criminal! I braved Wahiawa’s crazy traffic 2 days in a row to get brownies from this bakery. 😭🤣 I haven’t tried anything else but the people in front and behind me were ordering the brownie bombs and said they were so good! Maybe next time. Haha."

Locally owned since 1959, Kilani Bakery is just the type of mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall establishment that you remember from growing up. Everything is made from scratch daily – try the chantilly cake, custard pies or malasadas (Portuguese donuts), or the famous brownies (said to be the best on the entire island).

Wandering Wahiawā: A Local’s Guide to Neighborhood Eats

We find any excuse—a first baby lū‘au in Mililani, a rare trip to Hale‘iwa with out-of-town guests—to dip into town for a bowl of Shige’s saimin with a cheeseburger deluxe or a bag of fresh butter rolls from Kīlani Bakery. But what if we made Wahiawā the destination and not merely a pitstop on the way to somewhere else?. Our itinerary for a day trip to Wahiawā, where we don’t just pull over and stop, starts where all good mornings start: with coffee.
